Coleridge nursery (crouch end) admission - is there a catchment area?

I understand there is a catchment area for the nursery, will this be the same as the admission for the primary school? How does it work?

They can be but there are a lot of nurseries. I'm sure you will find somewhere. Near Coleridge is starshine, mto, Hornsey day nursery, ashmount, blythwood and bowlers. If you're stuck My Crèche does ad hoc care.

thanks for that, that does sound chaotic and a bit complicated. We are moving to the area and dont know if we will be in before the deadline for the nursery application, which means we probably wouldnt get in anyway. I understood they had extended their hours and making it a very popular nursery. Guess it's best to apply to as many as possible before we move. Do you know if the waiting lists for private nurseries are long around Crouch End?

Generally the school nurseries in Haringey do follow the same admissions criteria as the schools but not exactly as some people will be part time, some eligible for free hours etc. They tend to be less oversubscribed in the nursery class because the hours don't suit everyone so as a rough rule of thumb if you'd be in or near the catchment for reception it's a safe enough bet. That said there's no actual system for allocating nursery places and you can have your name down at several, and then be offered a place at one when you're still waiting to hear back from another - therefore a lot of movement on waiting lists. It's a bit chaotic, truth be told.
