Creating my own website

I'm creating my own business website and I only need to have one that's simple with a few pictures, contact details, info on what I do etc. I've tried using wordpress but I'm getting bogged down and lost! Can anyone suggest a simpler website builder please?

I like Wordpress, but then I have a degree in software engineering, so I may be overestimating the tech-skills of the average user.

Whatever you do end up chosing, please pick something with usable templates, pick one and stick with it. 'Homemade' designs invariably end up looking horrible and very unprofessional IMO. (Sorry!)

Have you considered asking (your own or a friend's) high school aged kids to set up the Wordpress site for you? They can normally do this in a second and would probably appreciate a little bit of pocket money!

Use Wordpress - it's really simple the free one and can go on to advanced level if need be in the future!

Wix.com is really simple with a free website and then premium options. I've just built a free website (until my business (hopefully) gets going) and it was very easy

I really rate Jimdo - they have three (?) plans, from free to £80 per year. I use it for my business websites and they look good!

Try Webplus by serif software

It's fairly cheap for the new version and I think you can download the older versions to try out free (although not certain of that)

I think for ease of use the newer the version the more improvements and easier to use it is
