This is the feedback thread for the 400 Mumsnetters with children aged 1 - 12 who have been testing out Biotiful Dairy’s new cultured dairy drinks and snacks. 200 Mumsnetters were asked to test Biotiful Kefir Quark Squeezy snack in Vanilla Cheesecake flavour and Strawberry Cheesecake flavour, and 200 other Mumsnetters were asked to test Biotiful Kefir Slurpy drink in Strawberry flavour and Mango flavour.

The mango was a nice flavour. It was my little girls favourite of the two.

The strawberry flavour wasnt as nice. Also the tube it came in wasn't as practical for my daughter to get it out without making a mess. The top of it looked a but soggy after being stored in the fridge. I would rather it just be in a pot.

1. If you would recommend Biotiful Kids Kefir to others, why would you recommend it? I woupd reccomend the mango flavour as it is a bit different. The pouch also was easier to get the product out of. I like that is had the gut friendly bacteria too.

Unfortunately my 8yo wasn’t keen - she said they were sour and not fruity enough. She has enjoyed Yakult before so I was surprised but she has said a firm ‘no’ to getting them again.

Based on my daughter’s reaction it would be a no, although I was keen to find a good yogurt pouch for a packed lunches that isn’t too sugary so I might still recommend on that basis.

My DC liked them as an afternoon snack. They're fond of things like Innocent smoothies and Frubes squeezy yoghurts, so they were excited to try these.

I was very excited to do this as I LOVE kefir and only wished the other day that there was a child friendly version. I used my vouchers and also bought extras so that we could all try some. I liked the packaging, the colours etc and that it was ideal for lunchbox sized portions.
The taste is great, still sweet enough to feel like a treat or dessert but not too sweet.
Being freezeable means that it could be put in a lunchbox so it’s chilled for later or given as an alternative to ice cream.

There wasn’t anything I/we disliked.

Yes I would, it’s healthy, easy to use and tastes good. Thumbs up from all of us!

It would be good to be able to buy this in bigger packets rather than singles - maybe it already is but in my local shop it was sold in singles?

We really enjoyed the product but I thought they were expensive compared to similar yogurt pouches and this would put me off buying regularly

I would definitely recommend. Easy to use and perfect for taking out with you. They tasted good too, no sour aftertaste. An healthier snack alternative

My children tested the Strawberry cheesecake Squeezy Snack and the Strawberry Slurpy Drink.

The strawberry slurpy drink was nice, the packaging was handy as we used it on an outing so didn’t take up much space.
The squeezey snack was lovely and thick, we actually ended up using a spoon to scoop it out.

1. What did you like about the products and flavours that you tried? Kefir has been shown to be a healthy gut bacteria supplement that actually works, I believe a healthy gut is important and these are present in such a format that the kids think they are a treat (akin to ice cream!)
2. What did you dislike about the product and flavours that you tried? The packaging on the squeezy seems to get soggy where it joins to the lid, quite a few had done it in the shop, as had one of the ones on our home delivery (yes, I've bought more, they're a great hit)

Yes! Because they're an actual healthy treat and my kids love them.

We tried the strawberry cheesecake flavour squeezy. I couldn’t find the vanilla cheesecake variety.

I liked the idea that they had good bacteria. The DCs liked that they looked like calippos!
Both DCs are yoghurt fiends and liked the products.

In the supermarket most of the packets had split open creating a lot of waste.
Less keen on individual, single use packaging - we prefer a big tub of yoghurt to decant.

Probably not for the above reasons although the DC did like them.

Really nice flavours - not overwhelming or artificial. No sourness.
Easy way to get some more calcium into the kids, plus the packaging makes them easy to take out and about.

We are trying to reduce our plastic consumption and there was a lot of packaging.

Already have! They are tasty, more healthy alternative to other yoghurty snacks and very convenient

Argh. Can't see how to edit but to add:

1. We tried both types, strawberry pouch and strawberry cheesecake squeezy
2. We found them tasty and it's a bonus that they are better for a healthy gut too
3. The squeezy pack is a bit too messy for my LO (2 years old)
4. It tastes nice, the pouch is easy to use and less messy, and they have added benefits for gut health

My little one was a fan. She enjoyed both the products we tried and found teh squeezy pack easy to use. The more open one was a bit messier but would probably be more something I'd buy for an older child anyway (my LO is 2).

They were both delicious, filling and not too sweet.

Squeezy cheesecake’s opening might have been a bit to big for a young child, she was confused a bit, asked for a spoon and then it was a bit messy because she ate it without a spoon. Also cheesecake’s packaging was a bit wet and sticky, it was soggy next to its lid, they were all the same, I’ve checked before buying in store.

My child enjoyed it, its flavour and smell. It seems convenient, easy to use on the go, it’s quite filling, enjoyable and, I believe, healthy.

Both my children liked both flavours, but preferred the strawberry. The texture was nice and thick and didn't have any nasty after taste or over-sourness that some kefir does.

I had no idea how my 20 month old would be able to use the tube, so spooned it out for them both instead. The vanilla cheesecake flavour could have been a bit stronger. It was a bit expensive.

We enjoyed it and we would recommend it for something to try as a different snack on occasion that is healthy.

Liked the idea of it being low sugar.

The texture wasn’t pleasant- quite heavy and gloopy and the flavours were indistinct. The vanilla one in particular was really tricky to open. I thought they were very expensive for the size of the product.

Both flavours were loved by my son..he slumped it up in under a minute. He said it wasnt sweet at all but was tasty nonetheless.

My son is and was unable to open it himself so would struggle with it as a lunch box treat

Its sugar free which is a must for me and is natural. Its a healthy snack for kids and the packaging appeals to them.
