We're live tomorrow morning at 11.45 am with Russell Brand who will be telling us about his latest book Recovery: Freedom From Addictions

Russell will be talking about his own recovery and how he believes the 12 steps recovery programme can help people - whatever scale of addiction they are on - to find a happier and healthier life. He will be answering questions about the book and sharing the practical advice he has been taught through his 14 years of recovery.

We'll also be talking to Russell about his role as a new dad. When he was last at MNHQ and BC, we filmed him - We'll be showing him the video live tomorrow to see whether his tips and views of parenting have changed now he's a dad.

Join us over on Mumsnet Facebook to put your Qs to Russell OR if you can't make it post up on this thread for chance to win a SIGNED copy of his brilliant new book Recovery.

Why, just why?

The man's a buffoon. You're going to give him a platform to either run out a loa
d of 'mummy' stereotypes to goad or bleat on about how much he emphasises 'cos'.

Meh.....

Russell Brand is a person who believes his opinions are superior to others and his shambolic ramblings are the mantra of the second coming of Christ.

Personally, I find him to be a rather insignificant, grotty, little man.

I don't mind him but he does strike me as a rather odd choice of live chat subject

I can't for the life of me think of anything Russell Brand would have to say that could possibly enrich any aspect of my (admittedly utterly dull and average) life.

I still haven't entirely uncurled my toes since witnessing his output during the last election.

Anyhow, have a lovely time tomorrow everybody Grin

He always seems fairly misogynistic to me. And I've never found him funny or half as clever as he clearly thinks he is

Why, just why?
I can never forgive him, nor Jonathan Ross, for that phone call to Andrew Sachs.

This is going to go sooo well!! 😆

Why are you such a misogynist who clearly regards women a pieces of meat?

Why are you so arrogant that you believe that you are in a position to share parenting tips?

It is 16 years from now. A man who boasts that he has sex with different women every day picks up your daughter in a club, has sex with her and then not only tells stories about it, boasting about his sexual prowess but also phones her family members to discuss it - how will you feel?

Well, several Mumsnetters claim to have slept with him, back in the day.
We could get them to give him a series of clues and see if he remembers them.......

Why start on drugs in the first place? Was it because it's seen as 'cool'?

Who?

Hi Russell, happy to see you have a new book out for me to put on my Christmas list! Congratulations of parenthood!

My question is, when did you first realise you had addiction issues and what prompted you to take action?

Report
Carouselfish · 22/09/2017 00:07

What prompted you to start the Trews? How do you feel it's gone down? Do you mostly get good feedback on it?

Report
OutwiththeOutCrowd · 22/09/2017 00:35

Hi Russell

Given your anti-capitalist stance, will you hand over some copies of your new book to the book fairies of Books on the Underground to scatter around the tube network for the benefit of impecunious, weary travellers?

Have you all listened to him in the last year or so. Honestly give him another chance. I follow the Trews Russell, it's great. I know the inner stillness that I can tell you have too. Im sure this'll give you the strength that'll get you through what looks like the onslaught from Mumsnet today.
You're making a show of yourselves people, calm the F down FGS.

Russell now you're a parent (congrats) How do you feel about tackling dabbling with drugs (your daughter, not you!) . Has it changed your perspective? Would you come down harder or let her try and make her own informed choices? My views have definitely changed as I've go older and have a DB up and down with addiction. It does colour my view. How would you approach? Coming to see you next year in Stockport btw 🤗

KinKinCat · 22/09/2017 07:27

Hi Russell! Do you think legalising drugs would be helpful to society? Do you think it will ever happen?

I came on to ask "Whhhhhhy?" but I see that question has already been asked.

Hm. Russell, it is early days, but has having a daughter made you see women in a different way?

Not wishing to sneak in another question, just returning to say that I enjoy your Youtube channel, particularly the Under the Skin series. You seem to be a more reflective, less manic-around-women version of yourself these days. Probably shouldn't offer you Wine, Gin or Chocolate, but hope you won't find Flowers problematic.
