Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Two weeks after MC at 10 weeks pregnancy test still showing very strong test line

I was advised to do the test after 3 weeks, now its been only just about 2 weeks and I couldn't wait, hoping that some hcg has left my body. To my surprise test is still showing very strong test line☹️
I am aware that it can take month or two for test to show zero but I expected it to fade at least a little bit...
I will of course ring EPU in a week to find out if anything is wrong.
I am just wondering if anyone else tracked the progress of thir pregnancy test line following miscarriage.
So many questions ... just want to move onSad
Its my fourth MC and every one was different. I had D&C for my previous MC and back then it was 5 weeks till I got my period. After ectopic it was 6 weeks. Now it was natural MC and have no idea what to expect.

Thank you!

@Doremifasol I am also going mad atm so I’m with you in solidarity!
My MMC was discovered on 22nd Feb and I had the MVA on 25th Feb when I should have been 9 weeks but measured more like 6.
I also thought I could have been pregnant again which is why I kept getting the positives as I felt I had ovulated based on my temperatures but they have now dropped and I’m still getting the positives 6 weeks later. A scan two weeks ago showed the retained tissue but as they couldn’t rule out a new pregnancy at that stage I was sent away for 2 weeks. My follow up scan is Friday and after that I expect I will require some kind of repeat procedure as I know based on my temps (and fact that digital tests are still showing positive but not going up in weeks) I am not pregnant again. Sounds like your AF might be around the corner which is exciting! But do insist they scan you so you can try to get back to normal. Wishing you a speedy recovery and rainbow babies for both of us ASAP!

@Norberta thanks for sharing, and I am sorry you are going through this. 😔 I am driving myself crazy atm to be honest. Tests are getting stronger every day, I expected them to fade out slowly as they did in my previous MC. Even clearblue weeks indicator is still at 3+. Yes we had unprotected sex but clearly there is no chance for new pregnancy with hcg in my body already.
Do you mind me asking how far were you when you had MC? And what happened with retained products, are you just waiting for your period and hoping it will get resolved?
I have a scan in EPU on Fri. I am now also getting period like cramps which is a novelty as I only had them on the night when I had MC.

Hello! I had positive tests 2 weeks after my MVA, then still again three weeks after and i'm still getting them now, 6 weeks later! Turned out when i was scanned that i had retained products so i say give it a week and if they're still positive, push the EPU for a scan.

So sorry you're going through this and I hope your situation resolves itself sooner than mine xx

Hello, firstly I am sorry for your loss.

I had a loss at 12 weeks and had surgery. Tested once a week. Took 5 weeks for the line strength to drop at all (so super strong at that time), 8 weeks for a negative test and 9 weeks for a first period.

Had a scan at week 7 just to check - all was clear, nothing retained, just took a very long time for hcg to drop.

Generally the closer you got to 12 weeks, the longer it takes as hcg is at its highest then.

Hello. I’m so sorry for your loss. I did the test early too and called the hospital (I had a mmc and then medical managements) as I was also worried I had other symptoms such as tender stomach and because of my concern they did a scan and there was remaining still 2&1/2 weeks later so I had to have more medicine. It could genuinely be that it takes three weeks to get a negative test but when I tested again two to two and a half weeks after the second dose of medicine and it was negative. If it would put your mind at rest I would call a doctor to ask.
