Pain few days after surgery - is it normal?

Hi everyone,
I had an erpc for mmc (9 wks) on Tuesday this week - I didn’t have much pain after, no need for painkillers at all, just heavy period like bleeding - then last night 3 days after op I’ve started having really bad period like pains which are constant and goes around my back too, it seems to be worse when sitting - like pressure. I’m already on cefaflexin and mitroproxenol since yesterday in case of infection but I feel worried this pain isn’t normal. I’m having to take cocodamol to make it bearable as allergic to ibuprofen.
EPAU closed until Monday and I really don’t fancy a&e as just want to be in bed.
Appreciate anyone who’s had this and can reassure me!
Thanks x

One thing I wish I was prepared for was the sudden night sweats as your hormones crash. That was around day 10/12, literally woke soaked in sweat and boiling hot. Convinced it was another infection but swiftly told its very normal and common. I know there's no textbook but I wish we were all mentally prepared for these things.

I've had no pain but have had headaches everyday since. I hopefully it's hormonal changes combined with stress as they seem to be getting better .Thanks

Thank you @dippyegg32 @plixy I do reckon it’s some sort of infection, I don’t have any pain when doing a wee, but am convinced there’s some blood in it. I woke up this morning and pain has filled a bit so maybe antibiotics are working. Think it’s so bad they close over weekend!
Thanks for your replies, hope you’re both ok x

I had three erpc and twice had horrendous pains. First time turned out to be uti and the second a bladder infection. Needed antibiotics both times. Apparently it's quite common with this procedure.

I had an ERPC in December, no pain at all until day 6 which was so painful. I phoned the consultant who called me and scanned me and did urine dip. I had no wee issues at all but it came back as positive uti so had co-amoxiclav which cleared it. I had heavy period like pains and lower back pain. Hope you feel better soon.
