So 2 weeks we find out I was pregnant, clear blue test says 2-3 weeks, this weekend I started bleeding, very lightly only when I wiped so was just monitoring it but next day it had gotten a little heavier and was in my underwear and I started to cramp, phoned out of hours midwife and was told take paracetamol and phone early pregnancy unit in the morning, that night horrible cramps and lower back pain and bleeding was basically like a period, so phoned them in the morning and got told to take a test in 2 weeks and that would tell me if I was miscarrying or not!
I know that we’re in lockdown right now and everything’s really crazy but is that it? I have to go 2 weeks Not knowing?
They said they would only bring me in if Blood was pouring out of me basically. It’s been 4 days of period like bleeding and constant cramping.
Has anyone else had this?

I had heavy bleeding throughout the night so called EPAU this morning and am not in A&E waiting for blood test results and internal scan. Have not been given any indication yet as to whether or not I’m miscarrying but like you, I just know. My breasts are no longer tender and my nausea has gone too. I’d be very worried still if I pass this amount of blood and baby is ok! Hoping for answers today, will keep you posted. Good luck to you, such a horrible situation

I am really sorry to hear this. I started miscarrying yesterday, i had awful cramps for 24 hours before and just felt different, slight blotting yesterday morning so called my GP who has arranged an appointment next week at my local early pregnancy unit - have you thought of trying to get seen that way? Throughout the day yesterday the cramping and bleeding got worse to now today being in full bleeding whereby it is like a period. I know deep down the baby is gone. I can totally understand how awful waiting 2 weeks will be, i am sorry you need to wait like this xx

I’ve just had the exact same experience. Found out at 1-2 weeks, am now 9 weeks, started bleeding at 14.30, am still bleeding now with cramps as well that started around 16.30 and they’ve told me to stay at home and test in 2 weeks time unless am ‘soaking a sanitary towel every hour’. Even then, they won’t scan until 9am tomorrow, they’ll just treat me for blood loss at A&E. Am worried sick and so frustrated. How can we be expected to not know if we’ve lost our babies for another 2-3 weeks 💔 I can’t deal with this. I hope they do something. Let me know if anything you say changed their process, am desperate.

Hi Katie, so sorry to hear your news. I've just miscarried at 9 weeks. They did a scan and it had stopped development at 6 weeks. I started with fresh blood and period like cramps, which got worse overnight and I passed large clots. They scanned two days later and I passed the foetus the same day. Another 2 days and I still have period bleeding but more constant but the cramps have reduced. The Dr said they are not offering medical or surgical options at the mo which shocked me. They said to phone if i had severe bleeding, otherwise do a test 2 weeks after passing the foetus.
I wonder if they aren't offering a scan as you are so early? I don't think they can see anything on a scan before this (but I might be wrong). My thoughts are with you x

@Katie2610 so sorry you're going through this. I had exactly the same about 10 days ago. Sadly I miscarried at 6-weeks, but it looks like the pregnancy hadn't really progressed much beyond 3-4 weeks given what I passed and the fact my HCG levels had dropped completely to where I was testing negative.

With my symptoms, I had the brown discharge first, then bleeding only when I wiped. Very soon after I started passing clots and then three occasions of passing tissue. My advice to you is phone your GP and get them to give you an urgent referral to the EPU. I was told exactly the same thing, wait two weeks and test again. I was quite persistent in getting a scan to make sure there was no risk of infection or intervention that needed to happen.

With the referral, I was able to get an appointment at the EPU next day where a scan confirmed there was no pregnancy present and no remaining tissue. It was reassuring to know that everything else looked ok, and once I have a period I can start TTC again.

How are your pregnancy symptoms? Are you still feeling them? With me, the morning it started I woke up and knew something was wrong as I went to bed with nausea and sore nipples, then woke up feeling nothing at all, just like my pre-pregnancy self.

Be kind to yourself during this time. Bleeding is also very common and not always a sign something is wrong. I'll keep you in my thoughts and have fingers crossed for a successful outcome for you x
