Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

2nd missed miscarriage

After years of trying my husband and I were excited to find we were expecting last March. Unfortunately I started having a tiny bit of bleeding in May and was diagnosed with a missed miscarriage. I was advised to leave things to occur naturally but by August, despite cramps and bleeding, I had still not fully miscarried and had to go for a D and C. We found out I was pregnant again on Christmas day and were so excited to go for our 13week scan today, but have been told it is another missed miscarriage. I'm 40 this month and nobody seems to be able to tell me why this keeps happening. I'm not sure
I could go through all this for a third time. I'm waiting for someone to ring me with a date for my D and C but nobody has offered me any support emotionally. Is there any older mums out there who've had similar experiences? Does anybody know why this keeps happening to me as I'm not getting much support or information from the hospital.

So sorry for your losses. I've no advice but I recently turned 40 and had a miscarriage in October. There is an organisation called Cradle in Facebook that I have found supportive x

I'm so sorry for your losses @Billington80. I've had 2 missed miscarriages and one chemical pregnancy in the last 11 months (been ttc for over 2 years in total). It's devastating.

I'm having further private investigations at the Coventry implantation clinic - under professor Quenby.

You are likely eligible for recurrent miscarriage tests due to your age and how long you've been ttc. My bloods haven't shown anything, so that's why we're looking privately as we can't face ttc, really hoping for answers.

I hope you hear from the hospital soon. I've found I had to find my own emotional support - the hospital didn't give me a leaflet.

Go gently xx
