How are you all getting on?

I was just wondering how everyone is getting on with their studies, particularly those of you who (like me) are in their first year.

I'm really enjoying it all so far. I'm studying Environmental Science with the OU and am really loving this module - U116 Journeys Through a Changing World.

At the moment we're learning about the Arctic, and for our next assignment we have to chose items for a museum exhibit titled The Arctic: Past, Present and Future, and write an audio guide.

How about everyone else?

Glad to hear you're enjoying it!

I'm doing a MA in Education and loving it, my brain feels alive after so many years. The content is so enjoyable and right up my street, and I really enjoy being with like minded peers.

What I'm not enjoying is the assignments. I have two 5000 word ones due on Jan 10th and I feel sick about it. Every time I sit down to write I get distracted by the house... DS... the dogs... I can't seem to focus. I know what I want to say, but it's been 7 years since I was last at uni and I can't seem to get the words out. What I'm writing is really basic and I'm disappointed in myself.

Lockdown inspired me too. I took 2 free level 2 courses, in Counselling Skills and Climate Change and Environmental Awareness and really enjoyed them both. It gave me the push I needed!

I take French lessons. It is going well so far. I am toying with the idea of doing some exams but that can wait until next year however. I think I made a good decision. One thing that the lockdown made me realise was that life was too short not to do anything.

Oh brilliant, that's good to hear. K102 is an Introduction to Health and Social Care. Can't wait to get started.

I'm really impressed with the OU. The information in the books, the website and in the online tutorials is very well organised and interesting, and the tutors are very approachable and explain things clearly. I think it's well worth the cost.

What is K102 about?

I haven't started studying yet. Will be starting with the OU in February studying K102. Your module sounds really interesting! How are you finding the OU?
