My goodness Smile I don't think we've ever had a second thread in week 2!

Anyway, the last thread is full, so let's carry on the chatting here until the new thread on Monday!

If you have yoghurt and cream - then the obvious answer is to mix them together!

Also, whilst not strictly Bootcamp, if you can get hold of some vanilla bean paste, a little smidge of that will help. (And when I say little, I mean little - less than half a teaspoon!)

Anyone looked at the new Michael Mosley 'guts' book? Some really interesting stuff in there. I have been on lots af antibiotics in the last six months so I probably have no good bacteria left in my innards.
I am trying the proper apple cider vinegar and actually it is quite nice, a bit like the smells in a cider factory. Nice in lots of fizzy water.

He talks about your gut bacteria acting like a second brain, and driving your food choices. Worth a read.

Cooking, that's horrible, what a shame. And Kittens, WTF are some people on. There was a guy screaming at a young woman with P plates trying to parallel park in our village's (very narrow) main street on Friday. He was throwing a stream of verbal abuse at her at the top of his voice just because she didn't get in first time. She looked younger than my daughter and was crying by the end. A couple of passers by told him to cool off but that was just making it worse. The butcher eventually popped out and parked it for her, but it was awful, and you are so powerless in the moment. Then of course he screamed off in his 4x4 at high speed in a 20 zone. Arse :(

Thanks all, we are fine apart from my stinking hangover

Have just put a beef brisket into the oven, cooking slowly with lots of stock, herbs and veg, think I might do some cauli mash with it tonight with plenty of cream and butter.

cookingongas sorry to hear about your chicks Sad

kermit I've come to the end of my two weeks this evening, so I'm glad you asked this question.

I'm sat eating a very nice Asda full fat greek set yoghurt.
There is an even nicer pot of M & S extra thick double cream in the fridge.
Why am I eating the yoghurt when there's CREAM? Hmm
Is full fat greek yoghurt less calories than double cream?
If it isn't, why are we eating the yoghurt when we could be eating cream?
Is it really so bad to sit and eat a whole tub of cream, when we're eating a whole tub of full cream yoghurt?
You can tell I'm trying to convince myself Grin I WANT that cream

So running results - definitely a PB, waiting for an official time, but it'll be about 3-4 mins off my previous best! Yay!

Celebrated with babybels and pepperamis, lol.

Is the purpose of strict boot camp to set in ketosis quicker and lose more weight? So if you started with BClite would that just mean you lose weight more slowly, or would you not enter ketosis because the carb count isn't low enough?

Your yoghurt looks delish!
I used to make yoghurt in my slow cooker during my Dukan days.

@BIWI I'm not sure why I went so low but have found it quite easy. I was doing SW and had quite a carb heavy diet which, in hindsight, made me feel sluggish and tired.

I'm getting all my carbs from veggies so will carry on doing what I'm doing.

BIWI · 04/06/2017 15:49

ilovekermit - that's a very low amount of carbs - why so low? (And why are you counting them - that's not Bootcamp! Grin)

To be honest, the only way you'll find out if 50g carbs is too much is by trying it out.

And Bootcamp Light isn't automatically about introducing masses more carbs into your diet - it's just a slight relaxation, in that you will be able to eat some fruit occasionally and some nuts/seeds occasionally and drink some alcohol occasionally.

What some people do is a hybrid - so Bootcamp during the week and then Bootcamp Light at the weekend.

Hi everyone, can't believe I've survived 2 weeks! I'm not too sure how to carry on...whether to do bootcamp or do a hybrid. So far I've been having 15-20g of carbs every day. Will it stuff up my hard work if I go up to 50g some days?

I'd like to introduce some berries into my vile tasting Greek yogurt

Loved seeing all your fur baby pics, I have a tortoise called Gary who doesn't give very good cuddles!

Kittens how horrible, I hope you and your son are ok.

Survived spinning! It was hard, but I expected that having not been for weeks. What was unexpected was my sweat smelling very pungent - not like usual body odour, almost ammonia like. Googling seems to suggest this is quite common if exercising in ketosis. I think my breath smells too Blush

I am making low carb flax bread for tomorrow's breakfas. Think I could do with a blast of fibre....
BIWI my plan is to slice and freeze it to avoid gorging so please don't get the stick out just yet!!

Also making yoghurt in the instant pot. Yup make the yoghurt very low carb you can culture it for 24 hours and this will let the bacteria consume the majority of the lactose. Its very tart! Lovely and creamy though

Kittens that's terrible!

Cherries I was concerned about ingredients in the Beanies coffee too but their website says that they infuse the beans with flavour so no added nastiness! It's delicious, try it!

Flowers exploding, that's so horrible ☹️

I am at PILs for a buffet this afternoon. Have got myself some spinach and boiled eggs to take along. MIL knows I am trying to 'be good' (her phrase) and I have taken BIWI's message about not being bothered what people think to heart! I will tell them exactly what woe I am following if they ask, FIL could really benefit from it but I can't see him doing it Hmm

Just made an Eton mess to take, DH asked if I could have it too and I said only the cream, he thought that it was very noble of me to make something I couldn't share Halo

I try and keep it light, brush it off, say 'oh well, I'm just giving it a try - seeing how it goes.' And then change the subject asap. Ultimately, if people aren't dieting themselves, the problem is more often than not that you're making them feel bad about their choices. It's not about you.

And once you've been doing it for a little while, just 'oh well, I've lost X amount - it's working for me, but I know it's not for everyone.'

On no kittens! What an idiot he must have been, and no wonder you're shaken!

I got through the boot sale- had a gluten free Wetherspoon breakfast (without the beans) so managed to stick to bc and without anyone commenting.

I've noticed that a lot of others, like me, are worried about telling people about this woe. I don't want people to know for fear of judgement Sad those for do tell without -this ridiculous fear worrying; what do you say? How do you counter the negativity?

A little justified 'blip' which any one of us would have done. under the same circumstances. Glad you and your children are OK. That's the main thing.
Jump back in when you're ready. You'll be fine.

kittens Flowers that's sounds horrible.
MOIST I had veg with my sausages yesterday, is that better than salad?

Just off to make roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings - the things I do for the ones I love. Grin I'll just have the roast beef with lots of veg.

I am hoping that I haven't got bad breath! - I am sure the water helps.

I think there is a sweet point for getting weighed at weekends, when it has got to 9am or later, you have had a lie in and gone to the bathroom, but haven't eaten or drunk anything yet. Having had all that time to metabolise the previous day's litre after litre of of water.

Yesterday was a bit odd.

breakfast- 3 eggs and mayonnaise, 1l water
lunch was yoghurt blackberries and slivered almonds plus 2 litres of water as I got caught out timewise before taking the kids to the theatre
snack - creamy coffee and 50g ham
I wasn't very hungry but managed a bit of salmon teriyaki stirfry, going very easy on the sauce, with some broccoli and edamame beans

I had some more yoghurt and coffee in the course of some aghast late night catching up with the news.

so far today had
3 eggs and mayo for breakfast
cheese and celery plus lots of salad with mayo for lunch
