I was upset by some transphobia on here over the weekend and reported a thread. MNHQ didn't even reply to my report as they would usually have done. I was wondering what the rest of the internet had to say about the transphobia on here and wondering how long it is until someone takes legal action against Mumsnet when they are blatantly allowing discrimination to take place, allowing snide little posts that simply wouldn't be allowed were they snide little comments about race or disability.

It is very distressing for anyone with friends or family who are trans.

Hi coffeecreativity - I don't know the post you're referring to, but I have certainly seen things on here which I know some would consider to be transphobia. However there are also lots of moderate people questioning the current direction of travel for transgender children. The issues of affirmation without greater digging into what's causing the distress. The speed by which children commence medical transition once they're finally seen by GIDS. The lack of research into outcomes. I've seen these things dismissed as transphobia on various forums, which to my mind is a dangerous quashing of the debate.
