Should I test again? BFP after IVF

I got my BFP on Tuesday (official test date) but I'm worrying in case it's another chemical (that's what I had on my last cycle last year)

Do I do another test tomorrow just to check the line is still strong? I do get really anxious about testing but maybe I'm better off knowing?

I've had the tiniest bit of spotting but no other symptoms etc

I wouldn't test again — a fainter line might tell you that the concentration of hcg in your urine is lower but that could be because there happened to be more liquid in your bladder that time round, so you wouldn't know for sure.
A private blood test would give you more information but you'd have to want to spend the 50 odd quid (potentially twice, if you want to know if it's doubling).
The anxiety is awful and the wait until the scan is so long, so I completely understand why you are looking for something. I'm just afraid there isn't anything that can really offer reassurance.

I'm the same, the wait is a killer. I'm booked on for my scan in just over 3 weeks and I'll be 8+3 by then.

Paying these are sticky ones for us both! Xx

@MyLittleBeee we had a chemical last time too...I was at a different clinic then and they do regular bloods so we did know from Day1 that it was unlikely to progress. But it was awful nonetheless.

What I find tricky about my current clinic is that they give you no info at all. You do one urine test and then wait for a scan - and I'll be 8.5 weeks by the time they can fit me in for a scan.

The reality is we can't change the outcome - we either have sticky ones or not - but it's so hard not knowing. It's the hope that kills you !

Well good luck. I hope it all works out for you. Xxx

It is super worrying, I think if I hadn't had experience of a chemical before then I wouldn't be nearly as worried.

The only 'symptom' I have is peeing a lot and really yellow urine (sorry tmi) even though I'm drinking a lot. I'm hoping that's a good sign and not just the progesterone pessaries.

I'm tempted to do another test in the next couple of days but also petrified. This baby is so so wanted the though of anything going wrong is unbearable.

@MyLittleBeee congrats on your BFP!! I got mine after our second ICSI a week ago. It's exciting firstly then super worrying isn't it!!

I spent the whole week basically googling stuff to try and work out...well I won't tell you all the things I've been trying to work out in case you catch my bad habits.

I've not had symptoms either other than those that I know are from the progesterone (because I had them before transfer!!!)

I decided to have blood tests - combo or private and my clinic but it was definitely a mixed blessing. I found I didn't want to know the results (I've had the first result so far, not done the second yet).

I guess what I'm saying is I think you have to decide what will reassure you and what will freak you out! And how soon you want to know if it isn't working. I agree with other posters that home tests may just freak you out. I nearly did a CB digital today then thought - what state will I be in if it doesn't give the result I want and what will that actually tell me?

Good luck and I hope it all works out with your bean xxx

I’m sat here at 32 weeks and honestly my missed period was it in terms of symptoms for me. Same with my DS. No sickness or vomiting, possibly sore boobs but no more sore than before my period and tiredness yes but again nothing out of the ordinary (and I have a toddler to chase around so could easily be understood)
Some people don’t have obvious symptoms it’s all very different. My friend who is also pregnant had nothing until 11 weeks and then HG until very very recently at 30 weeks when she can finally stand upright again without chucking up.
I guess what I’m trying to clumsily say is symptoms - or lack thereof - don’t tell you much about how the pregnancy is progressing. There are people who have lost symptoms with negative outcomes and you’ll often read this on the internet as that’s where we tend to go when we are worried and sad and needing an outlet but there are just as many if not more who don’t have symptoms and everything is fine and they just carry on their merry way and have their lovely babies.
Deep breaths and try and keep as calm as you can.
Will you be having early scans? Look to those as if you’re like me you won’t feel reassured until you see for sure Flowers

Having no symptoms isn't that unusual OP, certainly at this early stage. I never had a wave of nausea in any of my pregnancies. Sit back, relax and enjoy the fact that right now you are pregnant. Congratulations!

I know you are probably right and the extra testing only adds to my anxiety levels, it's just I don't feel pregnant. I have no symptoms at all and I really thought that after trying for so so many years I'd just be able to tell. Plus my chemical from last year is on my mind and I'm scared the same will happen again.
Argh wish I could just relax!

I know it's really hard, but literally no amount of testing is going to make a difference one way or the other, and if you do another test now, you'll only be wanting to do another one the next day. I'd say try to stay away, if you can.

Congratulations to you!

Congratulations!
I totally understand the anxiety but it really is out of your control now so testing again may make anxiety worse if the line isn’t lots darker. Perhaps try a digi in a few days but my advice would be to step away from the tests If you can . You are pregnant now which is wonderful news! Testing over and over won’t change it and fingers crossed there is nothing chemical about this pregnancy at all.
It’s really really hard when you have had previous losses or struggled to get pregnant in the first place. And I speak as a total hypocrite as I tested about 8 times with my current pregnancy so it’s totally totally understandable! Smile
