Possible PCOS

Hi. I wonder if anyone could tell me how long they TTC for before going to GP to check for PCOS? We haven't been trying long but I have a lot of symptoms of PCOS: irregular periods with very long cycles, cycles where I don't ovulate, excess hair growth on face, and when I went for a scan with last pregnancy they said they saw cysts on ovaries but said this can be normal in pregnancy. I am currently overweight with a BMI of 26, so really I am wondering whether it's pointless going to GP until I'm a healthy weight or whether they will check for PCOS anyway.

Thank

Thank you for replying. Hate the thought of GP thinking I'm a time waster Confused but would like to know either way. Will book appointment and hope for the best.

I reckon get an appointment and go now, talk it through with them. Your bmi is under 30 so shouldn't prevent them checking it out.

Best of luck xx
