Can someone help analyse my figures?

Hi everyone...

Wasn't sure whether to post here or TTC but here goes.

Have recently had two sets of 21 day bloods (first set was CD21, second was CD23).

For whatever reason, they didn't bother testing my progesterone first time round, but second timne (CD23) it came back at 20.8. I've heard varying opinions that this is good and not great. GP didn't seem concerned.

The other thing I'm not sure about is my Oestrgen/Estradiol - GP said it was 'normal'. I asked the nurse on the reulsts line what the actual figure was, she said "1850".

Does anyone have a clue what 1850 is? In units? Is that good or bad?!

Thanks, yes I'm going for another one this cycle, although unfortunately day 21 falls on a Sunday Hmm. Jusy my luck! Oh well it's a day earlier than this cycle so here's hoping.

Thanks, no it was my 6th cycle of Clomid and our ivf referral appt should have been today, so it was a close one! (and not rude at all to ask).

When we were going through all of the testing last year, I never thought that a single day 21 test could tell you a huge amount. Not all cycles are the same amd it's normal to have occasional cycles where you don't ovulate anyway. It could be worth asking for another test on day 21, if they would let you have one.

I looked on wiki for central cycle.
Looks like it peaks cd21 but doesn't drop that quickly but does go right down before period. No scale on the chart though.
Did they suggest another test?

Wow Hedgehog that's wonderful news! congratulations. Did you conceive naturally? Apologies if that's a rude question, just with it being in this section I'm not sure what stage everyone is at.

Hi Naty, this appeared to be a pretty "textbook" cycle, I had a positive OPK on cd13 (my first in months so I was delighted to see a sign!).

I had thought CD 23 was perhaps a tad late in detecting the progesterone, but assumed it stayed at the same level until period arrived? If it drops 'per day' then that could be promising, maybe I was higher on day 21.

I presume it could be affected by not being done on day 21. It would have dropped from then as I assume goes down till period.
Are you doing opks what day do they say you ovulate?

Did you have your fsh and lh tested too? It sounds like your test on day 23 was a little late, as it should be done 7 days before the end of your cycle.

Try not to worry too much. My progesterone was much lower than yours (and done in the correct day) and I'm now nearly 6 weeks pregnant. I remember how confused I was when I got all of my results, it is never very well explained and googling results can make things worse!

I thought 20 was low Sad

This was a 28 day cycle.

They said estrogen showed at 'normal' so that's a comfort I suppose....I suppose it's better to be battling low progesterone without having excess estrogen on top (of are they sort of a packaged deal?)

Thanks for your replies. Just feeling scared and anxious at the minute. At the relaxed attitudes of the surgery more than anything else.

How long was the cd23 cycle?

Progesterone is supposed to be above 30 to confirm ovulation, although my consultant said 35. Mine was 9 to begin with and went up to 29 with Clomid, after which they upped the dose.

I'm not sure about Estradiol! I read on-line that it was meant to be below 100, mine was 130ish (I think) and my consultant was happy with that. I would phone up and ask them.
