IVF: significance of bleeding long before test date?

Hi

I recently did a failed IVF cycle and have the "debrief" this Friday.

I was wondering if there is any likely significance regarding AF starting on 9DPO (basically 6 days after a 3 day embryo transfer)? I thought that the progesterone pessaries were supposed to suppress AF until they were stopped (at my clinic that would have been 15dpo).

Thanks
QT

AF was ridiculously heavy too - 4/5 very heavy days: much heavier than I naturally have.

Hi QT,

I didn't have this on my IVF cycle, but bleeding at 9dpo has happened to me on two natural cycles. I have no proof, but I think it might have been something trying to implant but it all going wrong. That's just my theory, because this has only happened when ttc.

The pessaries don't always stop a bleed though.

I hope your debrief gives you some answers.

Thank you very much - your reply is appreciated.

Debrief tomorrow: I have lots of questions and "observations" from my cycle. Many may nt have an answer, but I will feel better for asking them :)

I had this on two cycles too. I asked the consultant and he said it was normal - the lovely progesterone pessaries don't necessarily stop it.

I'm sorry it didn't work out for you this time and hope you get some answers to your questions.
