Clomid not working this month

I am on my second cycle of clomid. The first cycle worked well and I had a normal 28 cycle, but I am now on day 36. I had blood test this morning (3rd week in a row that I've had to go). Anyway called for my results this evening and I haven't ovulated so I have been told to start my Clomid again. Feeling really shit about it as I really hoped this was the month.

Has this happened to anyone else?

good luck OP

dc1 was conceived after 5 cycles of Clomid, and 2 miscarriages

dc2 took one cycle

keep perservering, the chances are it will work for you too

if only we had a crystal ball, it would make all the infernal waiting much more bearable !

DS1+2 both conceived on my third cycle of Clomid.

Hope this cycle works for you Smile

Ooo, it is just frustrating isn't it. The human body seems to be a very erratic thing.

If good news stories help, I was almost a year on Clomid while they adjusted the dose (upwards to 150) but it worked for me. Generally there is a high success rate with it - but obviously can still take months. Hang on in there!

That said, it's worth asking about the other options. I am TTC no2 and Clomid only seems to be working intermittently, so am now adding in Metaformin). Sometimes it feels like one big chemistry experiment, but all for a good cause!

I luckily never got those side effects or no-one noticed anything different to normal in my case Grin

Thanks nevercan, really needed to hear a positive experience.

I have to go back in 3 weeks to see the consultant and have yet more blood tests, fingers crossed it works this time.

Dreading the mood swings though. I got them quite bad on 50mg, so no idea how i will feel on 100mg

I had to do three cycles of clomid before it worked for me

My understanding is you have to take clomid on days 2-6 of your cycle, so if you haven't had an ovulatory cycle one needs to get kick-started by taking progesterone (provera), or there's little point in the clomid.

I'd go back and have a chat with your consultant. Plus PCOS usually means they like to try metformin to see if that can reduce symptoms/enable a cycle to happen. Good luck.

No, just clomid. I have PCOS, miraculously I conceived my dd naturally, but no such luck this time.

Are you taking provera and metformin as well?

I ended up taking all three and three cycles of Clomid resulted in ovulation but no pregnancy - somehow conceived 5mo later with no other periods.
Then for dc2 took metformin and provera to get cycles going, didn't work, then added clomid and cycle 2 resulted in pregnancy.
