Howdens integrated microwave hja7050 - how much?

Cguk81 · 27/12/2016 21:40

Possibly the most boring question to ever be asked on mumsnet but does anyone have a lamona (from howdens) integrated microwave, model no hja7050 and can tell me how much it costs?
Our current lamona one has bust and this model seems to be the only other one that fits the space. Howdens are ridiculous to deal with if you are not trade so I can't find online how much this new one will cost. Thanks!

We had an old wood kitchen and put a built in microwave in an oven housing under the hob. Our joiner made up filler pieces to match.

Good evening Kerryawalsh1
Yes, we do still have the Lamona integrated microwave for sale. It is hardly used and we are looking for £150 for it. We are on Merseyside, postcode L31 4DZ - north of Liverpool. Please advise if you are still interested before we list it for sale elsewhere.
Kind regards

CGUK81 - good afternoon, I saw your dilemma regarding your microwave whilst searching for a price to sell the Lamona integrated microwave which was installed above the single oven in the kitchen of the bungalow we moved in to a few months ago. We have decided to get a double oven to fit in to this space therefore we are selling the microwave and single oven. This would your kitchen exactly!! We are selling it for £150. The price from Howdens today would be £200 plus vat. It is hardly used as I prefer conventional oven. Hope this helps? Contact me if interested

This is where a wee bit guesswork comes in. lol. The Lamona is 387 deep, so I am going to guess (an educated guess, I'll grant you :) ) that this broken microwave is in a tower, possibly on it's own, but more likely to be above an oven. Reason I say that is that microwaves built into wall units are usually less than 350 deep, as the cabinet is normally 350 deep or less. If it IS the case that the broken microwave is in a tower unit, then that tower is most likely around 600 deep. If you take out the microwave, I'd suspect that there is just space behind it, which can be used for larger capacity (and depth) microwaves and ovens. Check first though. Pop the microwave out. I strongly suspect that the gap in there will accommodate larger units. If in doubt, grab a local fitter to confirm.

Thanks @johndps I really like the look of the first one you listed as it's cheaper than the lamona one but it seems much deeper. The depth of the lamona one is only 387mm. I can't find any that are the same size as the lamona one!

If budget allows...this one has a much larger capacity.
I have a one this size plus standard oven. This combination of two ovens offers good versatility and ability to cook various dishes at the same time.
However, larger capacity combis are expensive...

Less spondulas gets you more features from respected brand.
The Lamona is a microwave with grill. Useful, I'll grant you, but the Zanussi below also has a convection oven on board...combi microwave, oven and grill...

Hi all thanks for your replies. johndps you sound like a handy guy to know and thanks for the info. Howdens just back to me this morning to say the hja7050 is the replacement model that fits www.howdens.com/appliance-collection/ovens/integrated-microwave-grill/
£282 though so it's not cheap! I'll have a look online this morning to see if I can find any alternatives that match the measurements. Thanks again for all the info.

I got one just before Christmas and it was £190. They are clever as I think only one other make fits the space and that was £300!

Got the lamona one in the summer. It was about £250 I think. Integrated ones are expensive apparently!

Just looked at the spec online...460mm height. I'd be surprised if there was anything but minimal diy skills required to pop in another 450mm microwave in that gap. Just have a look behind the microwave for what the machine sits on. Should be fairly obvious if 450mm or 380mm with surround is required.

What dimensions? I am a kitchen designer and most oven housings come with a filler panel for just this sort of problem. Oven heights usually come in around 900mm (double oven), 600mm(single oven, 450mm (compact or combi, also coffee makers) and 380mm. However...these sizes vary between models, so for example a 450mm oven may only be 440mm. The gap is where the filler panel or grille goes. Very common. Filler normally supplied with housing although in reality it is just a piece of board the correct size. You can cut down end panel, door, even plinth if it's the same colour.

Neff do or used to do an integrated microwave that would fit in a 500mm unit rather than a 600mm unit. Ex display ones can occasionally be found in Ebay.

There was no answer from them today and I'm impatient and hoped someone could tell me tonight. I'll phone them tomorrow.
