Child Friendly places to visit/eat at in BRIGHTON

My 5th wedding anniversary is this weekend and as I'm also 31wks pregnant dh and I booked ourselves into a posh hotel in Brighton and were looking forward to a final weekend of calm and relaxation before this little one erupts into our lives. My dm had agreed to look after our dd and everything was set for a weekend of pure adult based indulgence including posh meals, the theater (well ok actually it was a visit to the cinema), a little bit of shopping etc etc.

Unfortunately my dm's hospital appointment has come up and of all the flippin times its for this Friday! Thus we now have a 3year old interlopper on our romantic weekend and I really need to find places to visit that will keep an extremely energetic pre-schooler happily bouncing along. We're in Brighton from Friday morning until Sunday evenings and suggestions for places to visit, restaurants that are child friendly and advice about the best areas to go on the beach would be incredibly welome.

Brighton is great. Weather out of this world. Just as good as the South of France. Kids having a ball. Been on the beach, Lucy's - playground, Marina, Hove Lagoona and Washbrookes. Any other suggestions for the final couple of days?

What are they into Seagull? The Pavilion is fascinating in Brighton , Sealife centre is great. There is a children's farm called Washbrooks about 15 mins away in Hurstpierpoint. The Booth museum is interesting as is the Brighton Museum. The marina is always good for a wander . Are you actually gonna stay right in Brighton?
What really appeals and I'll be more specific?

Lots of castles around here : Hastings, Pevensey, Lewes, Bodiam. 1066 History battlefields at Battle.

The Aquarium? The Boardwalk cafe is right on the beach near the pier and is very child friendly.

Looking to take my 9 & 6 year old down to see the sea for a few days. Anything fun for them to do would be appreciated? I can think of Bluebell Railway, Drusillars (spelt incorrectly), Beach. Anyone got any additional ideas please?

Not sure you'll read this again miggy but wanted to say a very big thank you. Spent most of today simply sitting and watching dd whilst she ran round in circles. It was really really peaceful (if you can have peaceful in the middle of a packed play area).

Theres a nice cafe with outside tables right opposite the new childrens playarea on the seafront. its called Lucys, the food is really good and the children can go and play in the playarea while waiting-climbing/sand etc. its at the far end (from the shops) of the arches. Beach is a bit stony really.Sealife is good (but busy).
Also a nice restaurant in the lanes, chain type but reasonable food and v child friendly (troters, I think). Komedia theatre-could find on web, often have childrens shows at weekends.
