Hi I am planning on going on holiday in July this year. It was a bit of a last minute decision. It will be the the first holiday with me, my two year old son, my boyfriend and his 6 year old daughter. So was wondering the best websites to check out as don't want to pay an absolute fortune. Thanks in advance

I use www.hoseasons.co.uk/holiday-parks pretty exclusively now for all my UK based holidays, also compare the prices against cottages etc, sometimes a cottage can be much cheaper. Although the down side of a cottage is no onsite swimming pool etc

Oh yes probably best avoid Craig Tara in the school holidays. Off peak is usually fine though. It's a shame because the facilities are great.

Agreed, but Craig Tara is a bit more 'rough and ready'.

Craig Tara and Seton Sands are brilliant but will be very expensive this time of year. Try Park Dean, Sundrum Castle or Sandylands.

The Edinburgh mums all speak very highly of Hunters Quay Holiday Village in Dunoon. Apparently the facilities are wonderful, and it's right by the beach. You can either drive to Dunoon or catch the ferry there (passenger and car).
Oban is really lovely too and has several caravan sites. I holidayed at Tralee Bay when I was a kid!
