Would you book to fly from Manchester this month?

We were just about to book a holiday with TUI flying from Manchester when the news broke of the half term chaos. We've held off since as we are unsure what to do.


We can't book the same holiday flying from a different UK airport it isn't available.


Should we have a complete rethink or are the problems likely to be largely resolved by the last week in June? Are there any other factors to consider?


We accept there is always a risk of delays and have dealt with substantial delays in the past but the last minute cancellations seem a bit soul destroying.


Anyone got any inside information about the situation? Would we be crazy to ask for trouble?

Manchester isn't too bad - it seems to be Tui that's the problem (that was our experience 3 weeks ago).
I would look for a different company, & maybe from Liverpool, if not too far from you.

Maybe I should go elsewhere with a different tour operator

It's Tui I'd be more worried about than Manchester. Many other airports have had similar issues (Leeds, Birmingham and Gatwick at least).

We're flying at the end of the month with Jet2holidays from Manchester, because we have a very tight window between work commitments and that was the best combination of destination/price/dates, but without those limitations, I would have looked at something with Easyjet from Liverpool as that's a small airport that's easy to get through and we have EJ vouchers to use up from two! cancelled holidays due to the pandemic.

But Tui do seem to be doing some good deals at the moment, we'd have probably risked it if their dates had worked for us.

I think I would be more likely to avoid tui than Manchester altogether based on recent experiences of friends flying with tui from Manchester

I’ve seen it on line that it’s not as bad as it’s being made out by the media. I’d book, and go early on the day.
