Hi has anyone been to Gran Canaria in December? Is it hot enough to sunbathe and swim? Is it wet at that time of year ?

It will likely be mild or lukewarm in December. It is normally around 21C so probably not warm enough to sunbathe and swim but still very pleasant.

It’ll be cold in the evening. Doubt it’ll be warm enough for sunbathing but probably tshirt weather in the day.

I've been in November/December a couple of times and it was plenty warm enough during day for lying on sun lounger and going in the pool (a little chilly on getting in but after a length or so just fine!). Cooler in evenings but just requiring a light jacket or sweater.

Obviously it depends where you are too, presuming the south? It was around 24 most days when we were there. We had one thunderstorm that passed quickly and the rest of the time blue skies and sun! It can be a bit breezy.

I've been in February and it wasn't particularly warm.

We went Jan this year, it was 22 in the day and cooler at night so just needed a cardigan or light jacket. We sunbathed all day and went in the pool but it depends how hot you like it. 1 day it was quite overcast but we had a hotel that had the barriers around which kept you out the wind. The people we met that were there the week before said there was a sand storm but we missed it thankfully.
We went to the Puerto Mogan / Amadores Beach area as I read that it was more shielded from the wind and was the sunnier side of Gran Canaria. Trying to convince DP to go back in Dec for a pre Christmas break! It was lovely, I would say go for it!
