And is it as hellish as the news are making out? Thanks

We arrived to our destination. No issues at all with the airport. In fact I'd say it was a bit slicker than normal

Well done Gatwick!!!

Flew out on Wednesday, first thing.

Apart from it being like 1995, in that Gatwick style, it was fine. Not too crazy. A few people having a lager breakfast, but other than that I’d been expecting it to be far worse.

Do Gatwick still have a separate queue for security for those that need it? And allow those with under 5's to use it? It was great last time we flew (2019) and wondering if they have scrapped it, or at least tightened up who uses it.

@whenwillthemadnessend

This is reassuring. We are also on easy jet. Already been told no food on flight so will see if we actually take off

Having got appalling food poisoning last time I flew Easyjet, that's probably not such a bad thing!

Reporting in from Gatwick! Got here 3 and a half hours early as I was nervous. Check in fine, straight through a very efficient security. Speedy. No queues.

Completely different to my last experience at Heathrow. The staff seem to have a handle on it and it’s not too busy. Might be different at the weekends but I think they are coping better than other airports.

We are flying on Good Friday 😬

Is the premier security etc worth it?

easyJet had no food on Saturday. Gatwick was slow through security but all fine.

Just came through Gatwick an hour ago - security was the best and quickest it’s literally ever been for decades - straight in and out, no queues.

Premier Inn on the other hand…..in fairness probably just the number of people arriving Vs lifts.

Flying out on Saturday. First flight for years. Kids are so excited but I'm dreading it. Hoping not too terrible... we'll be there super early. Of course, we're flying easyjet so our flight may be cancelled... argh!

Flew from Gatwick today. Arrived 8am, extra early, bag drop, and then was through security within 20 minutes.

Flew through Gatwick on Monday. Queues we not too bad - security was a bit slow, lots of people - took about half an hour. Give yourself plenty of time. It wasn't completely heinous though.

My parents left me on Sunday and arrived at Gatwick early morning. They were offered a buggy to take them to immigration and a smiling immigration officer came over and dealt with their passports. Colmpared with Heathrow, even in crisis the staff have a totally different culture. I would say even now you are more likely to receive information and respect from them than the hard faced angry little Heathrow hitlers. I am flying back next week and have booked BA against everything I have ever experienced (broken business beds, cabbage and piss care home smell, rubbish food) of a horrific airline so I can avoid the aggression and ineptitude of Heathrow. Good luck to you, and to me.

I was at Birmingham last week and the queue for security was about 90 mins. We are flying again next weekend from Gatwick and I’m dreading it after seeing the news!

Reports were from the weekend which was the start of half term so bound to be busier. I’m hoping mid week will be slightly less busy. We fly Thursday. Going to get there very early to be on the safe side.

We are flying out of Gatwick on Wednesday. To Majorca. EasyJet. Didn't have a choice. The flight to Palma today was cancelled. Hoping situation improves.
