Thinking of booking Duinrell

We’re looking at booking Duinrell for the first time this summer. There is only the Comfort or budget duingalows available. We assume it will be basic but so long as it’s clean and comfortable we think it will be ok. I am a little confused as to the difference between budget and comfort though. They look very similar but the budget accommodation is slightly more expensive. Is it if a better standard?
Any other tips would be great too. We have been meaning to book for years but never got round to it. My sister has been and says it is fantastic. Smile

We stayed in the premium duingalows when we went too and they were excellent, but think they do book up quickly. The benefit of booking directly with the site was that you used to get more hours of daily swimming included for free, but that may have changed as it’s five years since we last went.

We had fab weather when we went (late august both times) and it was wonderful as we swam every morning, spent a lot of time on the park and went to a variety of beaches and towns too.

We visited Leiden and Delft which were both lovely with canals and old buildings. Also visited The Hague which is very close and obviously larger and good for shopping.

If you’re at all interested in cars there’s a brilliant motor museum between Wassenar and The Hague. I’m really not interested in cars but went because DH and DS fancied it, and even I found it pretty good.

Ah, I so enjoyed those holidays!

Great to read the good reviews. Smile
Unfortunately I work term time so we have to pay the inflated school holiday prices or we would have definitely booked a cheaper time. I heard that May half term can be slightly better value as it’s not a school holiday in Holland so May look at that week in future. This year we have a few things on that week so we couldn’t take advantage of it.
Compared to other holiday destinations it was good value for August though. Quite a bit cheaper than a Center Parks break here!
The premium accommodation looks lovely. I think we must have left it quite late to book as only comfort and budget were left. We are hoping the comfort duingalow will be fine as a base.
We will definitely be checking out the beach and local area. We heard there is a good Turkish restaurant nearby.

Just back from our 5th visit .Love the place.

You don't need proper passport pics. Just print off passport size pic on paper .

If possible book the premium accomodation directly with Duinrell. It's far supersior to their other accomodations and even the nicer mobile likes the Aspect ( Eurocamp). Our place even had a sauna!

Go off season as way cheaper ! It's not a 'sun' destination anyway so no point in paying summer prices.

Stayed at this site
Cycled into Dan Hagen
There are some very good places to eat by the ice cream parlour
Enjoy the swimming, take passport photos with you if you already have them - otherwise get them when you arrive ( but often you have spare at home from passport applications

We have booked directly with Duinrell. We booked a 4 person comfort duingalow in August. I know it will be basic but so long as it is clean and comfortable, it is just going to be a base.
I am really looking forward to trying it after reading all the positive comments on here. Smile

You can book accommodation either directly with Duinrell or also with canvas/eurocamp. I think each have their own area of the park so may have different accomodation available. It is brilliant - we particularly loved the water park.

Thanks for the tips. We are really looking forward to it. Smile
We will definitely be taking a visit to the beach and the ice cream parlour. I have heard there is also a good pancake place and some other nice restaurants.
We will be driving from Calais so plan to set off early as I know the roads can be bad.

Duinrell is brilliant. Def take bikes if you can. We cycled into and around the town (it’s just across the road). There’s a brilliant ice cream parlour and nice restaurants and shops. The beach is maybe 2-3 miles so easy enough to cycle to or a quick drive. We also went to some other beaches along the coast and found some lovely ones. We went to Duinrell twice when the kids were younger and I honestly couldn’t recommend it enough.

There's a few recent threads in this section about Duinrell if you scroll through a bit. It's fab.

Thank you. I was a bit confused because the budget was slightly more expensive than the comfort but maybe that’s just down to availability. I think we will go for Comfort then. Smile
The prices were really reasonable for August in comparison with places like Center Parcs in the U.K. I am quite excited to try Duinrell for the first time.

Comfort are a bit bigger and have a dishwasher. Maybe a few other extras really. All comes down to preference and location really and what's available.

It's a great site for kids holidays
