Just looking and seems some good deals for Marrakesh.
I have been to Tangiers many moons ago and found it very hasslely lots of men and police who were very intimidating.
I wonder is Marrakesh different? I'm a hundred years older so expect the attention will be reduced but just wanted some views I can trust !

We loved Marrakesh a few years ago. We stayed in the old city, at a small privately owned hotel run by a Belgian wife and Moroccan husband, www.riaddarsbihi.com/en/. The owners were extremely helpful, recommended places to go and others to avoid, and gave us their mobile number with a promise that they'd find us and collect us on their moped if we got lost! We didn't find it difficult to have a beer or wine in the evenings, but like in any Islamic country, just be sensible.

I loved Marrakesh but hated the unwanted attention from men. I was in my late 50s when I last visited and the hassle was as bad as ever.

Also found Tangiers hard due to the hassle...Marrakesh not as bad but now flooded with the types who grab hands to tie a wristband...say its free and then demand money and also do a hand tatoo....very agressive....keep hands in pockets !!....not sure we would return ever....Tunisia was so much better in terms of hassle etc...it was pleasant to shop !!

Marrakesh Medina, the main town with the souks, is VERY old and mainly, still traditional. Last time I went, there were crowds of men sitting around with monkeys, snakes and donkeys trying to entertain the tourists. Then men wear ancient looking hooded robes.

The hotels outside of the Medina are beautiful, and often offer a shuttle into the Medina - well worth it. The tiny cheap family run French and Africa souk restaurants are fab!! I love Marrakesh, but it’s busy, noisy, smelly (they use horses still, and they poop a lot), and not to everyone’s liking. Also, it’s a dry city - only a couple of the restaurants (the bigger French ones) serve alcohol.
