Holidays

Clueless

Hi all
I need some help! I am looking at holidays. 2 adults and 4 kids all under 10.

We really want to go away in May somewhere warm. We haven't been abroad in about 15 years! And it's a much needed holiday.

We would like a villa with a pool private. For ourselves and also so we don't disturb others. We can't go to Turkey as that's where family lives and we don't want anyone to have excuses to come see us! We just want to avoid regardless I'd we tell them or not.

I have looked high and low and found some lively places and excellent prices but the flights are extortionate! They cost more than the villa.

Am I missing a trick? We don't have any kiles with ccs or anything like that. Or am I just out of touch. Or I have found I'd the flights are reasonable then accommodation is high.

We could stay in a hotel. But we are a Muslim family. I cover up and we would like private use so we can just lounge around too but we can go to a hotel if not possible.

Thanks

Thanks everyone. I had a play around with the dates as we had some inset days that I hadn't seen and we can go last day of school for summer holidays and about half the price I was getting. Booking this evening.

Just watch for the children's vaccination requirements before you book

We were looking at villas but they all seemed too expensive so we're staying in a complex where there's not too many apartments sharing. Also I recommend onthebeach.com. They were far cheaper than tui and you get free airport lounge access if it's at least 4* accommodation

Use google flights or skyscanner for flights. Can you be flexible regarding airport of departure? It’ll be tricky to find something from Newcastle for example, compared to any of the 6 London airports… If you can also be flexible with dates, that can make the flights much cheaper. Flying Monday-Monday or midweek is usually cheaper than at the weekend.

maybe work your search the other way round and see where you can fly to within budget and then look for properties? I'm not sure what you're classing as extortionate but flights for 6 people in a school holiday are probably never going to be very cheap.
