Holidays

Agadir/ Cyprus/ Canaries….

Help me narrow down some choices! Looking to book our first blended family holiday this Aug (I’m a teacher - we have to go in school holidays)
There’s me, DP, DD 9, DS 15 and DSS 11.
DSD doesn’t live with us and his mum takes him on the most amazing trips- Florida, St Lucia, Mexico….

We have about £2.5k to go away for a week in the summer. Has to be between 6th Aug and back by the 26th due to weddings and their time with other parents. Ideally, we want to fly from Gatwick as that is close to home.
I’m aware that it’s not much money compared to others. We could go up to £3k at a pinch but that would need to be AI.

This would be our first holiday together- last year we did 4 nights in a caravan park! It needs to work for the two boys. We’re not overly bothered where. Ideally half board / cheap and cheerful AI

I’ve found some through EasyJet to either Paphos, Agadir in Morocco or Canaries . We need Wifi and a beach. My 15 year old son would join in water sports. My 9 year old daughter would just be happy on a plane!
Just really not sure how to manage DSD11 expectations.

Any ideas??

Cyprus in august is unbelievably hot. We were there for an august wedding and it hit 42. I love the sun but dang that was hot.

Lanzarote is lovely, and the breeze makes it feel cooler. Good for water sports too.

I hadn’t looked at Croatia. I will do.
I am worried Cyprus will be too hot for fair haired, freckled me.

I didn’t know Agadir was cloudy but have read up on that a bit now. The resort there was best value and looked the swankiest.
Will keep pondering

Have you considered Croatia? Accommodation is fairly cheap and it’s excellent for watersports

Greece isn’t the best choice. DSD’s grandfather is Greek and they have a villa over there.
We’d have a whole week of ‘at our Greek house….’

(I love DSD to bits. He’s a very funny kid but is immensely privileged. He goes to private school, his mum takes him for dinner up The Shard, they go on 3 big holidays per year…. she’s loaded. My kids are used to UK holidays so anything will be amazing to them. But I am so worried he’ll say everything is crap!)

Cyprus is extremely hot in August. I know the Larnaca end better but there's watersports on the beaches, boat trips, waterparks, fun fairs, quad biking etc.

Agadir in August is really cloudy. Don’t go there if you want to sunbathe

I’d pick a Greek island. They’d have a whale of a time snorkelling.
