Hello,

I've never been on holiday and I'm struggling to work out where would be best to go. I would be grateful for any warm holiday suggestions for March/April, preferably short haul as I will have DH, a three year old and a three month old. DH likes to walk around and look at things, I would be happy with nice restaurants. It's likely to be mine and my children only holiday for a while so I'd like to make it special. Thank you!

How hot do you want the weather to be? Balearics will be a nice 20-25 degrees during the day, but the sea is still freezing in March so you'd need a heated pool.

Canaries are also a good bet, over 25 degrees during the day and the sea would be a bit warmer, it all depends on what water temperatures you can put up with. South coast on Gran Canaria is the warmest of them all, that's where I'd go outside of the summer.

Majorca it menorca. Short flight and great holiday destination. I'd push it back to early May... you aren't guaranteed the weather in March or April, and many of the resorts will mostly be closed

Menorca is lovely and fantastic for children but it's not warm in March. If you want hot weather there you need to wait until June/July.

Cyprus, the Canaries or Madeira are probably the only places guaranteed to be warm with a short flight in April/ May time. Madeira particularly is lovely if you like strolling around. Not much in the way of beaches though, it’s more platforms with sea entry.

I’d say Cyprus - but better in April than March. If it needs to be March then Canaries.

Greece, Menorca lovely in May but chilly March/April.

Greece? Cyprus? Both good for weather in March and lovely beaches, lots of things to see, good food.

If you can afford it I’d recommend going to one of the Mark Warner resorts

Menorca

Short flight, very child friendly and safe shallow beaches.

Its perfect for families with young children.

Menorca is considered good for smaller children. Nice beaches that slope gently so you have shallow sea.
I think it might be a bit nippy in March though.

Canaries are further South, so warmer. I've only been to Fuerteventura myself and it was quite windy, so I'm not sure if the best choice for little ones.
