Dd looking to go on holiday in summer with friends but they will all be 17. Is there any way of them booking into a hotel in Europe? TUI seems to be for over 18 only. Does anyone know ways around this?

My friend had this on a post A Levels holiday as she didn’t turn 18 until August. From what I remember she just lied about her age when we booked (it was a package) and it wasn’t a problem - but this was the mid-90s so I suspect that might not be quite as easy now!

Mine definitely went to a festival in Spain at under-18. I booked a room via AirBnB for her and friends for their last night.

Depends on the country and the hotel. "Europe" isn't one small homogeneous place

(and the UK is in Europe....)

Yes my dc went to Zante with friends at 17 - it’s quite a common thing to do.

Yes, but you may have to act as a guarantor.
Dd went away with friends at 17 but parents had to sign an authorisation thing and accept responsibility for damage etc.

Generally at least one person needs to be over 18, sometimes 21. There may be some exceptions and certainly youth hostels would let 17 year olds book. My sister stayed in one in Tenerife which was basic but fine.

They will likely need to wait until they are 18 for hotel room stays. They could consider university accommodation or youth hostels instead.
