Villas but with an AI option? Does this exist??

We usually love Eurocamp / self catering holidays but I've promised DH we will look at something more luxurious as we've got extra budget this year! I love being able to step out of my living space straight into 'nature' / the outside.

I HATE the idea of living in a hotel room for 2 weeks but LOVE the idea of not having to think about food and drink for 2 weeks.

I am slowly educating myself about the options and looked at some of the high end AI options eg Ikos last night which is definitely the sort of quality I'm hoping for - but it's still a hotel room even if it's a very posh one.

What I'd love is a complex that offers villas / ground floor apartments that have their own outside area, access to pools, kids clubs, decent AI options or are B&B but central so lots of restaurants nearby.

Can anyone point me towards a brand / phrase I should Google to get started??

@gogohm

The hotel I stayed at in November was separate little blocks set in beautiful gardens, direct beach access from the resort. Room had seating area inside and out, some rooms had direct access to a pool (we booked late for a bargain so not us) ai, sports included 7 pools. It's not the same as a villa for privacy of course but I wanted ai. There's many options hotel wise on fuerturentura, we went for reasonable cost and weren't disappointed

What was the name of the resort? Sounds great

There are loads. Looking for aparthotels or apartment hotels. You can go AI or SC or HB.

Look at holiday villages. There are plenty in Cyprus for example which have self contained apartments/villas and have AI. Some have water parks on-site too

Oh also Estival Park has a small apartment section we have stayed in, share pool by the apartments block which is gated from the main complex but you can still access all the hotel facilities. That was booked with TUI

@anxiouswaiting

We stayed with Villa Plus for our honey moon (with the kids 😂).
It's not AI but some of their villas are within resorts which let you pay the hotel directly to add AI.

We stayed at Green Garden Resort in Tenerife, it was lovely, freedom and space of a villa and own small private pool, plus all the AI stuff too.

That does look lovely.

Ikos has ground floor rooms with a private garden. It will be too cold as Easter though.

Forte Village, that's the one. They have separate villas/apartments as well as the main hotels.

Chia Laguna resort in Sardinia has apartments, I think there is another resort nearby (beginning with an F possibly?) That is the same

IKOS is fabulous but the villa room categories are definitely not actual villas. They are regular hotel rooms / suites and not particularly large.

Have a look at Pine Cliffs in Portugal. You can get a 3 bedroom town house for well within your budget and there are 12 restaurants in the resort plus loads of others nearby.

We've done this kind of thing a few times in Thailand and the Caribbean for a pretty reasonable budget. I'm pretty sure most hotels we've stayed in in Greece have also had a villa style option- you just need to look on their websites for upgrade options as they aren't always obvious if you book through a package provider.

I think booking.com generally shows a wide range of choices.

Take a look at the Olympic lagoon hotels in Cyprus. We had private garden with our own splash pool but full access to AI great food and kids clubs

We went to Aphrodite Hills in Cyprus. It has a breakfast option and loads of restaurants as well as your own facilities in the villa. There was tennis and football and a spa.

Not sure a villa category at Ikos will still be in budget but worth a look. Thanks for the lanzarote tip!

I’m pretty sure the IKOS resort in Halkidiki has villas in the grounds. I’m not sure how warm it would be at Easter though. It’s a gorgeous complex.
