Copenhagen with a toddler

We have flights to rebook and looking at Copenhagen for April. Taking our 3 yr old DD. It will be for a long weekend. Anyone been with a toddler? Am I asking for trouble?
Original flights were for DH work so not a rebooked trip with the DD

Ahh that's what they're called! That's what I meant with my rather clunky description of "trike with toddler bucket"

Copenhagen is a great city for a toddler friendly city break. We did it a few years ago with DC3 & 7. As PP says, Tivoli is great, cute rides and lovely gardens to explore, open in evening with lots of twinkly lights which make it even more special. Everything very flat so easy for walking, cycling, buggy. Would recommend hiring bikes to explore the local way, maybe hire a trike with toddler "bucket seat" on front for novelty. Boat trips around canals and harbour to spot the little mermaid. Botanical gardens to explore and run some energy off. Great food options inc. open sandwiches at street cafes, pastries from bakeries etc for picnics can be very child friendly. The weather was gorgeous when we were there so didn't do many indoor activities but I think there are a few child friendly art galleries and a children's science museum for rainy days.
Also, nice short flight from UK and easy transfer into city on train from airport.
Definitely go for it, I'd love to go back!

We hired bikes when we went with our 18month old, visited Tivoli and the zoo/aquarium, went for a boat ride, picnics in parks, went along to places that had free outdoor shows, visited Christianshavn/Christiana for a look around and street food. Went to see the little mermaid, quite disappointing as it's just a small statue in the water really so not sure what the fuss is about. All in it was a nice time but not a place to go for any more than 3 days really so a weekend would be fine.

Perfect timing - Tivoli opens in April. Tivoli is amazing. With adult supervision, there’s a surprising number of rides which toddlers can go on at Tivoli. There’s also a large play area and plenty of space for them to run around. Also, most of the restaurants and cafes are family-friendly. Those which serve children’s menus were marked on the map too.
On the whole, it’s quite buggy-friendly. Most of the streets have pavements, the city is flat, and stairs are few and avoidable. Stations and museums have lifts. The biggest problem will likely be other pedestrians and bicycles. Bicycles are EVERYWHERE and sometimes the owners park them all over the sidewalk, so it can be a bit of a zig-zag drive with a buggy.
