Have I understood the guidelines for France correctly?

Hi,
We're taking our 16 y.o. and her 16 y.o. friend from England to France during half-term. We are fully vaxxed, but the friend has only had one jab. If I have read the guidance correctly, this is not a problem as long as she is travelling with 2 fully vaxxed adults, is this correct?

As far as the procedure, this is how I've understood it:

• download TousAntiCovid & upload our NHS app vax passport info
  
• for the friend, take a private PCR test within 24 hours of departure and upload the results onto TousAntiCovid
  
• fill out the Sworn Statement within 48 hours of departure
  
• for the friend, take a PCR test at a pharmacy in France and upload results to TousAntiCovid in order to gain entry to restaurants, museums, etc.
  
• all of us need to book a Day 2 test for our return
  
• all of us need to fill in the Locator Form within 24 hours of our return to England
  
  Have I missed anything?? All of this is certainly complicated, but we are really looking forward to the trip so I want to be sure I get it all right.

Just to add that aside from admin, vaccinations and tests make sure you have/bring a plentiful supply of masks..

Wearing of them is still mandatory in many areas accessible to the general public.

English Language version of the Official French Government advice here - I haven’t proof read it check it is fully up to date..

The guidance states:

“The pass must prove ……… that you have been tested (PCR or antigen) with a negative result within the last 48hrs;”

Locally to us (rural south west France) it’s possible to walk into one of several local Pharmacies and get an Antigen test done without an rendezvous, result in your hand in about 15 minutes….

Looks the the fee is €29 for those not covered by French social security.

@freckles20 it depends where you go. We did a french road trip over the summer and in some places there were lateral flow testing places in pharmacies, some places had pop up stands, but ile de re seemed to have only the official covid testing site.

Bloody annoying that we can't get under 18's 2 doses.

@underneaththeash I'm really glad that you mentioned that. I feel that the guidance is a bit ambiguous, but my interpretation was that my DS (15 not yet vaccinated but will only have single vac according to UK rules) will have to test every 48 hours.

I hadn't realised that this was an antigen test though (presumably that's a lateral flow?) . I had thought it was a PCR.

Does anyone know how that works in practise?

Thank you all so much for your help, especially the tip about the Locator Form taking time and about the LFT no longer being required for return for the fully vaxxed. When I read about the Locator Form I realised we need to book the Day 2 test too. My goodness what a process, but so looking forward to getting there.

The friend will need to refresh her antigen test for the app every 48 hours.

No - not a requirement to return from a "go" country from 4 October.

Sorry my post is unclear! I just checked on the link above and the friend can indeed take an antigen test which is much quicker than a PCR to get your results, so I’d do that.

In the summer the friend could have taken an antigen test within 24 hours (much easier than a PCR for fast turnaround).
Return to U.K. LFT now abolished for fully vax and U18 - yay!

Yes, but we found that no-one was the slightest bit interested in the Sworn Statement.

Leave yourself plenty of time to do the Passenger Locator Form before your return as it's a pain in the arse to complete.
