40th birthday trip - inspiration needed!

Hi, it’s my 40th birthday in May next year and I know I want to go away but I can’t decide what I want to do!

There will be 6 adults, no children. My sisters 40th was October last year and we had to massively change our plans for that due to Covid so it would be nice to do something good for mine (fingers crossed!). My parents are in their 70’s so New York is out due to the insurance cost. They are fit and well otherwise so happy to do city breaks.

I don’t know if I want to spend a week on the beach all inclusive, get a villa or do a city break. Can anyone make any suggestions of anywhere they’ve loved? We all love the sun, eating, drinking and like visiting different places but aren’t full on history buffs and don’t want to be full on doing stuff dusk till dawn.

Barcelona is the perfect temperature in May. There’s lots of art and architecture, great shopping, tapas bars and of course the beach!

Malaga. Great food and drink. The beachfront has been nicely developed and stretches for miles.
