Teenage girls’ clothes in Gatwick Airport
Expensivedisaster · 21/08/2021 18:16
Left it too late. My fault. Feel bad.
Just found out the huge parcel I ordered from Next for dd 15 won’t be here in time. Was due to be delivered but no courier on a Sunday.
Spent the day with dd15 looking for clothes but nothing in store. All online.
Dd is sad and I feel bad. Is there anything in Gatwick?
Otherwise we’ll sort it. First world problems but she has so little compared to everyone else.

If you're close to Gatwick, why not quickly pop to the Tesco Extra really near Gatwick, they have a good selection of clothes :)
kodaknodats · 21/08/2021 18:24
Sorry OP but airport shops are usually quite limited in stock, from experience of going in to the likes of Next, Monsoon etc. They don't tend to have a huge selection
If you DD couldn't find much she likes in proper shops outside of an airport then I think she will struggle
bowchickawowwoww · 21/08/2021 18:29
They have a Ted Baker and more designer gear. Crawley town is only about a 10/15 min drive from Gatwick. It's great for shopping op.
Good luck
LakeShoreD · 21/08/2021 18:34
Not a great deal at Gatwick. From memory I think Reiss, Ted Baker and not a whole let else which will cost you a bomb to get a whole wardrobe from and are probably not her style anyway. If you spent a whole day shopping and she found nothing then it’s probably a lost cause anyway but if she really needs basics a large supermarket should suffice.

Check if you're departing from North or South Terminal, and then check the map for what's there. www.gatwickairport.com/at-the-airport/passenger-services/airport-maps/
You can access "landside" (pre-security) at both terminals, if you have time - easy to go back and forth.
Or go shopping at your destination - if you don't mind saying what country it is, people might have specific suggestions.

Really small shops so not much choice at all re designs or sizing I'm afraid. Plus v expensive as they have a captive market!
I speak from bitter experience as we forgot to take 1 of our suitcases on holiday- the one with most of the clothes in 🤦🏻♀️
I'd just go to one of the big supermarkets, primark or the higher street to get some cheap bits before you go. Or you may be able to pick up some clothes where you are going? We went to France and luckily there was a big decathlon to get stuff for my boys.

Next day delivery pretty little thing or boo hoo.com

Will be the north terminal as I believe that is still the only one in operation.

There’s an Accessorize and a Fat Face which might have some things.
However if I were her I’d probably rather get by on what she’s got rather than buy stuff I don’t like much. If she finds something perfect then great but beware the panic shop. If it’s a sunny beach/pool type holiday she won’t need so many clothes anyway as long as she has swimwear, underwear and a few outfits for meals.
Roselilly36 · 21/08/2021 19:33
I wouldn’t rely on Gatwick to be honest, where are you travelling too? Could you shop there, if you can’t take your DD shopping before your holiday. What was the plan, if the clothes you had ordered didn’t fit or your DD didn’t like them?
Roselilly36 · 21/08/2021 19:41
If you are going to Spain or the Canaries, Zara is great and cheaper than the UK.
TheVolturi · 21/08/2021 19:51
Couriers definitely do deliver on Sundays, not royal mail though.
VioletCharlotte · 21/08/2021 20:06
Are you actually flying tomorrow? I'm guessing not/ not until later in the day if you were expecting a Next delivery. Can you go out tomorrow morning and get her some clothes?
HelloDulling · 21/08/2021 20:12
Where are you going? Shopping on holiday is always fun.
CeeceeBloomingdale · 21/08/2021 20:14
@Roselilly36
I was just about to say the same. Zara, Mango, Berska etc are great.
UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 21/08/2021 20:16
Another bite for shopping on holiday.
Greece, Turkey, Cyprus have a lot of ‘designer’ stuff that’s popular with teenagers. And they usually have a good selection of swimwear.
Head into the main city centre and you can usually find Zara, H&M. Dd was 14 when we went to lanzarote and spent a fortune in Bershka and pull and bear.
Could you get to Westfield Stratford or showherds bush tomorrow? They have huge stores with the above mentioned brands that teens like plus huge primarks. Lots of sales on as well.
LostArcher · 21/08/2021 20:18
Hi. Crawley is very close which has an H&M and usual shops. On the industrial estate there is a massive Next. Next to airport is Hookwood Tesco which has big clothing dept upstairs. Given that you will be flying from the North terminal, you can almost walk there.

I love shopping at the biosphere in Lanzarote too.
