Easy solo break with preschool DS

I'm exhausted for various reasons and covid-permitting would love a few days away this autumn with 4-year old DS. It could be UK or Europe, I just want to be somewhere we can have fun and I don't have to make any decisions so I'm thinking full board / half board. It's pretty much the opposite of our usual kind of holiday so I am clueless but I really want a break. I think essentials are decent food (I hate paying for something I could do better), a quiet bedroom and a good pool or beach for easy entertainment.
Any ideas or recommendations wise people?

Then I think something like Woolley Grange or Moonfleet would be ideal. It's just a nice hotel, which is super tolerant of children where there are optional extras - a bit of childcare, activities, playroom, swimming pool. I just liked that they had a proper kids menu, proper children's cutlery etc etc so it was v slow stress. You're not at any obligation to use the facilities iyswim

DS loved Woolley Grange at that age. The reception did a listening service in the evening too.

Loads of ideas to follow up, thank you! I don't think we necessarily need laid on entertainment or childcare (though the chance to have a proper swim is appealing!)

Have you looked at Butlins? They do toddler entertainment and the apartments have been vastly improved as has the hotels

Worth a look

If you want an easier life, I think somewhere that is set up for kids is ideal. If staying in the UK, maybe look at these hotels www.luxuryfamilyhotels.co.uk

They have some reasonable deals for weekends and also sometimes have a crèche/kids club so you can swim/nap/read if you like.

I've stayed at Moonfleet and it worked well for me (although we were upgraded to family room so I could sit on the bed and watch TV and eat/drink my wine).

Plus some good ideas here: www.kiddieholidays.co.uk/stunning-baby-and-toddler-friendly-hotels-in-the-uk/

Overseas, maybe look at mark warner or the like as they have kids activities clubs etc and you can go full board at most if you wish. There's a few companies which do this sort of thing but I can't for the life of me remember their names.
