Turkey/Greece/possible child problem?

We optimistically booked Turkey for the last 2 weeks of the summer holidays. We know that it’s unlikely to be a goer as they have been on the red list since forever. However we have booked with TUI and have the option to change up to 2 weeks beforehand. We have seen a couple of places in Greece which I think will be nice and if we change we’re looking to do so before any changes in the traffic light criteria, knowing that of course Greece might not go green.

I see there will be changes regarding testing/quarantine from amber destinations in the event of double vaxxed adults which DH and I both are. However we’re travelling with two children, one 11 and one 17 when we leave but 18 the day we land so I’m not sure what the rules regarding them might be.

Anyone have any idea?

Thanks @Hersetta427 we’ve done exactly that, now returning the day before DD’s birthday so still 17.

Hopefully this means we’ve got a better chance of getting away and not needing to be quarantined.

Just need to see whether amber testing costs with Tui are too prohibitive!

That's not correct - the OP is talking about the planned new rules that fully vaccinated people and their children aged under 18 benefit from no quarantine. Testing requirements remain unchanged though.

As you dc is 18 the day you return then they will have to quarantine, therefore when you change holidays I would bring it forward by a day or two to avoid this scenario

The rules apply to everyone over 12 arriving in Greece and everyone over 5varriving in UK, so it will make no difference.
