Can anyone recommend a great place to stay in Guernsey please (travelling with 5 year old). Hotel or self catering options welcomed - thanks!

Hello bouncydog - accommodation was really booked up - we went with Cobo Bay hotel for 3 nights and then Fermaine Valley for 6 nights. Having a lovely fine so far - currently in Oatlands so 5 yr old is in soft play heaven!

Oh, and if you want to go to Sark you will need to book your boat tickets early - the boats are very booked up at the moment.

Definitley stay in the White House in Herm if you can - lovely for a few days. Otherwise there are some lovely hotels - I saw a few people who were staying at Hotel de Havelet yesterday and they were really impressed.

If you want to be a little out of town then the Fleur du Jardin is lovely and Les Douvres if also really nice. If you want to spend a little more then the Bella Luce is fab.

Don't know what your budget is but the White house hotel on Herm is lovely. Very family friendly. Car free Herm is a heaven. We've been going to Herm most summers since I was a year old (over 40 Years), now with my own DC.

Parents stayed at Les Cotils when they used to visit my aunt regularly before she passed away. Seems lovely if their description is anything to go by.

Check out Fleur De Jardine in Castel. The suite on the top floor has amazing views over the sea.

The hotel has a pool and it’s own restaurant.

Farmhouse would be great and has a pool. If you do look at splitting the stay, then try and see if you can get a couple of days on one of the smaller islands (Alderney, Sark or Herm). They are wonderful, we are so lucky to have them right on our doorstep. If your trip runs into September you might get lucky and find availability. Regardless definitely get across to Herm for a day as a minimum. Sark is wonderful too. Definitely hire a car, the island is easy to get around, the west and north coast have big wife sandy beaches and the east and south coast have smaller sandy coves between the cliffs that are a bit more challenging to access, but my 6 year old manages to walk to most. Sunset on Cobo with chips is a ‘must do’. Someone has just set up a new website called Guernseywithkids which has lots of ideas.
If you are here on 5th September then get to the ‘Rocquaine Regatta’ which is a full day of activities on the beach and in fields nearby the beach. Brilliant for kids!

Hi Swimbiker! open to all suggestions. I understand that Guernsey is small and we will look to hire a car so quite relaxed about where we stay. Happy to spend a bit as it is our replacement holiday for. a Disney trip. My 5 year old would love the beach, but we quite like being near restaurants etc so we can eat out. A pool would also be ideal but not essential. I would also look at splitting the stay - we are holiday in for 9 nights over the August bank hol weekend. Happy to stay in one place for a few nights and try somewhere else for the rest.

Hi @croon979, I live in Guernsey. What Type of accommodation are you looking for? Town or near the coast / beach? (Although no where is far away!)

Hello- sorry should have explained more. I live on the IOM. Both the Isle of Man and Guernsey are in the fortunate position of being Covid free so we have a little private airbridge going on. So I am able to travel there and back and not self-isolate. Have booked the flights but not the accommodation.

Sorry my mistake it seems we will have to self isolate for 7 days upon arriving in guernsey so kind of rules out a holiday !

Hi

As far as I know Guernsey is closed to visitors and doesn't have plans to re-open at the moment ?
