Hello everyone. Just booked a break to peppa pig world. 2 days of park tickets, 3 day holiday. Looking for suggestions for nice things to do with an almost 3 year old when we're not at the park. Even just somewhere nice to walk round. Don't mind a bit further away such as Winchester/Salisbury. Might book an extra night if there's lots to do. Also any tips for the park would be great, it looks like they are taking Covid seriously looking at the trip advisor reviews. Many thanks

Me again. I've been sent an email about meet and greet with Peppa for extra money, won't be doing that but can anyone tell me if Peppa and George are wandering around during the day after that? Don't want to tell DD that she'll see Peppa if we wont!

All the ride on supermarket type rides are free, I didn't realise this to begin with as most theme parks charge for these extras. I think mine at 2 enjoyed these as much as pp world.

I haven’t been since lockdown, but my tips for PPW:

If you can resist, wait until the afternoon to go on the main rides such as Miss Rabbit’s Helicopter Flight, Peppa Pig’s Ballon Ride and Windy Castle. This may be tricky as it is the first thing your little ones will see when they arrive. Peppa Pig World’s busy times do seem to be in the morning (we got there around 11am and it was peak time). But it does get quieter in the afternoon. If you can distract your little ones with some of the tamer rides (the boats had no queue) or the soft play then go on the main rides later on – there will be less queuing. It got noticeably quieter around 3pm.
We found it easy to get about with our buggy as you can park themin front of rides and everywhere is pushchair-friendly. You might not need it because PPW is quite compact. Only need it if you want to explore other areas of Paultons.
There isn’t a lot of shade when queuing for rides. We went on one of the hottest days and could feel the heat. Take a sun hat and sun cream!
Take a swim suit and towel if you want to go in the Muddy Puddles splash park.
In my experience, Miss Rabbit’s Helicopter Ride has the slowest queue. The ride takes a long time to load passengers, as each carriage has to stop separately. After the ride has completed it’s rotations, each carriage has to stop again to let everyone off. Personally, we think it’s overrated.
There are more rides which will suit younger kids within Paultons Park itself, including a Victorian carousel and a Viking boat (which went faster than I’d expected). My DC love the Lost Kingdom. Look out for the “real” little baby dinosaurs that you can stroke. One was so realistic that my DS thought that he had better wash his hands afterwards, as I always make him wash his hands after stroking animals. Also, Professor Blast’s Express Train was a hit with my two year old.
There are lots of places to grab snacks dotted all around the park, but we found the best place for quality, choice and value was the Wild Forest Restaurant near the entrance.
We bought a “photo pass” which gets you 4 photos from rides around the park. It’s a good idea to write down the numbers of your photos, then you can select which ones you would like at the end of the day. This means that you know which photos you like best and avoids having to carry them around and potentially squash them. Bear in mind that you will have to go back to the kiosk of the ride where the photo was taken in order to collect your photo.
The First Aid centre is the place to get your “lost child” stickers, where you can write your number on the sticker and attach it to your child in case of emergency.

Just off the top of my head:
New forest wildlife park
Beaulieu
Walks in the new forest- there is a deer viewing platform at Boldrewood.
Reptile centre on the A35
Raptor and reptile centre at Ringwood
Bournemouth beach and plenty of other beaches to the south of the new forest
Marwell zoo near Winchester

No idea if these are all open or not at the moment, but there is lots to do.

We've just booked too, but only live an hour away so just going for the day. I think it's on the edge of the New Forest? Which is a lovely place to spend a day with a picnic and watch the ponies. There's also a nice town called Beaulieu nearby which is worth looking at
