Anniversary trip next year

Thinking of nice things.
I'm musing over where DH and I can go for our 10th wedding anniversary next year. It's the first weekend of June.

We'd like to go somewhere secluded where we can swim and do a bit of walking. Corfu would be ideal but DH doesn't want to fly.

Is there anywhere secluded and warm-ish in June that we could get the train to?

I've been looking at the south of France but it's hard to find anywhere that looks peaceful.

Max 1 day's train travel from London.

How about Burgundy? The Morvan region is very pastoral rolling countryside or you could visit the wine areas. You would probably need a car when you get there.

Browse the man in seat 61 website for ideas for train routes. Switzerland is easy to reach by train in a day via Paris, for instance.

Scratch the indoor pool - am imagining things! The hotel is the Grand Hotel Morvan. A very nice rental property also comes up on booking.com but sleeps 8 so probably bigger than what you are looking for!

Many (like very many!) years ago when I back packed with a friend around Europe, we stayed on a little known island in Brittany called the Isle de Batz. You reach it by a regular small ferry from Roscoff. Brittany Ferries have a Plymouth to Roscoff route so you could either drive it or take the train to Plymouth & then the ferry over.

Judging by the Telegraph article I’ve attached, it’s still very unspoilt. It’s a beautiful little island with empty sandy beaches and wild ponies roaming around. There is a village on the island
with a hotel but you can catch the ferry over to Roscoff to eat out. Very special place and definitely ticks the ‘quiet’ box. I’ve just looked at Booking.com and there appears to be a hotel with indoor pool. We swam in the sea and slept on the beach - the latter I wouldn’t do in a million years now if you paid me!
