Flying with car seat/pram

We will be taking our baby's car seat and pram on holidays with us as check-in luggage. I'm looking for advice about the best was to protect them? Did you buy specific travel bags for them? Any recommendations? Or was it enough to wrap them in bin bags or maybe didn't need wrapped at all? We fly often to visit our parents so don't want our things to get damaged.

Thanks for the advice. Hadn't thought about using the original box. Will also take a look at the bags that were suggestedSmile

I bought these over the summer

The first pram bag I bought was too small despite saying it would fit but these two are both really good sized. The carseat one was oversized enough that you could wrap the carseat in padding and still fit it in if you wanted to

Car seat - original box if possible, travel bag if not with towels and soft things protecting it (they do not treat them carefully!)

Pram - travel bag, again we chuck a few soft things in too but I'm less fussy than with the car seat

We brought the specific bag for our pushchair, normally we are the only one with any cover at the gate. It has a small tear in that I’m glad is on that rather than the pushchair! I also flew a few years back with a friend and her wheels were removable, one didn’t arrive at our destination! The car seat you check in and I would get a bag for that and have also read that people pack some nappies/wipes too to save luggage allowance.
