Dog-friendly beaches in France?

We’d like to take our two dogs on holiday to France this summer (probably the last time it’ll be easy to take them abroad ...)

Ideally, within walking distance of a beach (dh wants surf, I want to be able to swim), dog-friendly, bit of culture and things for older teenagers (if they deign to accompany us ). Not too hideously long a drive, but reasonably guaranteed decent weather. We’ve been to Lacanau-Ocean a few times but would like somewhere new. Any recommendations?
