Vienna is a fabulous destination - so much to see and do. Absolutely stunning city and easy to get around.
Not sure on how hot it will be at Easter but last summer we swam and went paddle boarding in the Old Danube. That made a relaxing addition to a city break and a change from all the museums and grand buildings.
Buy the 3 day travel tickets to go on any bus, tram or underground to get around the sights. The city card is very overpriced and not worth it unless you are the sort of person who wants to routemarch from one attraction to the next.

Budapest is gorgeous, they have escape games which can be fun if you like something different/challenging.

Vienna. I lived the baths in Budapest but found the city very depressing.

Been to both, I’d recommend Budapest. Lots to do, the baths are great, and it is cheap.

Budapest by a mile for me! I’ve been to both and had high expectations of loving Vienna (I blame Ultravox but then I’m nearly 50!) but just found it very ordered and a bit soulless. Budapest in contrast I found more attractive and the baths are nice. It’s also cheaper in terms of eating out etc.
I did love Prague more than either of them but appreciate that’s not in contention!

Vienna!! It's absolutely beautiful. I can't compare to Budapest, but Vienna really is stunning, and there's so much to see there - especially if you like music, art, history.
