Will the sea in the Gran Canaria be warm enough to swim in?

Flying to Gran Canaria (Puerto Rico area on the south coast to be precise) this Sunday, I was wondering if the sea will be warm enough to swim in?

I’ve never been to the canaries before (usually prefer Dubai at this time of year for guaranteed sun) so not sure what to expect sea temperature wise?

It's the Atlantic. It's cold and salty. I think it really depends on the outside temperature when it feels refreshing or just v cold. At the moment, I think it will just feel v cold!

I'm with ohmeows on this one, but does depend on how hardy you are. We were in Tenerife in Dec, no way would I have swum in the sea, but there were some who didn't seem to mind. But then I only get in the sea if I get really hot. Temperature in Tenerife (south) was pretty perfect at around 22 degrees, so didnt need to go in to cool off.

Depends how hardy you are. We swam in the sea in Lanzarote in December and it was fine once you are in, but it is likely to be a degree or two cooler now as Jan/Feb/March is when the sea is at the lowest temperature.

Current temperature is 20 C

Dubai is usually a couple of C warmer at this time of year:

Fuck no. We were in Tenerife last week, the sea was far too cold without a wet suit. I stuck a toe in and scuttled back to the heated pool.

Just came back today and was in the sea yesterday. Definitely warm enough, not really warm but comfortable.
