Ideas for resort/ hotels in Spain, Majorca or Menorca?

We are looking for a resort in Spain, Majorca or Menorca. Would like somewhere near a sandy beach, a really good hotel with a pool but to be honest I'm getting confused by all the options of results! We certainly don't need any nightlife, but somewhere with good restaurants and maybe a port or some something interesting to look at would be great. Kids club would be good bit not essential. Is anyone able to recommend anywhere? Thanks in advance

I liked the Hotel Polynesia at Benalmadena in Spain.

S'algar in menorca is lovely and quiet and not far from the airport or capital, about 20 mins. Hotel las palmeras has a great pool and kids entertainment. It also has apartments if you want more space. The bars and restaurants in the village square are great in the evening. We've been back many times! We went to Majorca last year and
Didn't think much of Cala millor or Cala bona they are busy and have nightclubs and bars serving full English breakfasts!!

Royal Son Bou is nice. Good kids club, massive main pool & smaller kids pool (probably best for 6 & under). Lovely long sandy beach with shallow sea. Not a great deal else to do in the area though!

I've stayed at the Hotel Cala Galdana 3 times and adore it.
The resort, as pp said is small (its purpose built around the beach, the people who work there come in from the nearest town) but it's easy to get to other places. Never had a problem getting loungers by the pool, though the beach is literally about 90 seconds away
If you want something more buzzing Santo Tomas is not far and looks more resorty (not my thing though)

Hotel does have evening entertainment, not really our thing but Elvis Presley into Tina Turner into Freddie Mercury (all 1 person was quite something). They have a mini disco type thing for the kids.

We aren't really beachy pool types, we prefer to hire a car and be out and about, it all depends how busy you want really.

Cala Blanca also nice in Menorca but much smaller.

A decent handful of shops and restaurants, but like most of Menorca not a great deal (the draw for us but not everyone's cup of tea). Beautiful wide beach with watersports. Buses to take you to Ciutadella and Mahon.

I like hotel cala galdana in cala galdana menorca. Not too big but not too small. 2 pools, very close to beach. Food is lovely, we normally go self catering but it was half board and we were spoilt for choice. We will most likely go back this year as it was so easy.

Menorca is a beautiful island and you won't be disappointed.
