May half-term sun by train from London

Can anyone help suggest a holiday accessible by train from London in May half-term? Would like sun so was thinking Eurocamp in south of France - any recommendations of camps close to stations and beach? Open to other suggestions, that’s just one idea! I will be heavily pregnant so can’t fly and we don’t own a car. DCs will be 7 and nearly 2. Any advice welcome, thanks :)

No recommendations, just a reminder to sort your travel insurance (and for the new baby). Travelling after the cut-off for flying means having the baby whilst away is quite possible. You need coverage for childbirth, possible perinatal complications, and extended stay until you have a travel document for the baby.

These are circumstances where you don't want to be left high and dry!

Collioure is much nicer than argeles in that area in my opinion, but I think you might get good weather even in dordogne and not need to go right to the south for sun

it was one of the eurocamps at Argeles Sur Mer that we went to too. Beautiful area, although it was very touristy too and not everything was open in May. I bet it would be really busy in high season as there loads of caravan parks.

We went to the Eurocamp at Angeles-Sur-Mer which is easy to get to on the train. We found it warm enough for the beach, although the locals were still wearing scarves!

You might be better by lakes for May, as even the med will be cold. Depends how hardy you are, and also there can be very strong winds along the mediterranean coast. Worth bearing in mind. It can be glorious, but one year we did it and 50% of the time we were nearly knocked off our feet. More inland was fine as its more sheltered, and also lakes warm up sooner than sea

We got the Eurostar last year to Paris, stayed overnight and got the TGV to the south coast. I'm sure you could find nice places to stay around the coastal area. That was the first long distance train trip we'd done and it was fantastic, so easy and so much nicer than flying or driving.

We went to Vias Plage with Siblu a couple of years. Got train to Adge and a taxi from the station. Everything is within walking distance and there are local buses. Eurocamp/Canvas also have a set up there.

Don't know about camps, but Lyon is a beautiful place to spend a few days.
