City break - October half term

I'd appreciate any recommendations for a city break in half term. It's for 2 adults and 5 year old.

Ideally we only want to travel 2 hours. Somewhere warm ?? With plenty to do.

Barcelona?
Beach, pedestrain areas, lots of kid friendly activities like aquarium, 3D cinema, lots for adults to appreciate.
Weather is normally a month behind us ; so should be like September in the SE of England.

Rome is also good for kids as is Jersey
