Disneyland Paris (Hotel Santa Fe) at the end of August - tips and advice please.

My wonderful mum has just funded a trip to DLP for my dd, herself and me at the end of August (ds will be away in Greece with his dad).

We're going on a 4 night stay by coach (with Leger) at the Hotel Santa Fe and will have Hopper passes for three days.

Bearing in mind my mum is 78 and my dd is less mobile (but not a wheelchair user), we will be going at a slower pace. We've booked a character breakfast and have opted for two days meal deals.

Any useful information, tips, advice ... anyone?

There is the big eating places in the section opposite the parks but they get very very busy, and you can't book. So, if you can, go to them early - you can alwasy go back into DLP park's after you have eaten anyway.

Good to know about the buses and trains. Dd enjoys trains wherever they are!

I'm going to bawl my eyes out on 'It's a small world'. Ex and I went to Florida in 90 and I remembering him saying when we got off 'small world', we'd do it again with our kids. It's not that I miss the ex., but we were being positive after loosing a baby the year before.

Can you recommend any good eateries?

take ear plugs for the rowdy teenagers at the hotel!!!
avoid the queues at breckfast by going in the exit (well we didn't know it was the exit)
the bus service is fantastic, very frequent and quick, you can easily pop back for lunch/nap and still have time to go back to the park.
the place is very clean and comfortable so you'll have a good time.
agree the shows are very very good.

We went to DLP last October with DD (who was 18 months) so did it slowly too. It was fab and we had a great time - so much so we are off to Florida in 2 weeks

To move between the different areas of the park, use the train. Can take longer than walking sometimes, but saves your legs.

The Disney Studios is a lot of shows, rather than rides really so can be done slowly at your pace. The 4D show is great fun, and the stunt car show is great too. Dh loved it!

Most of the gentler rides in DLP are in Fantasy Lan - carousel, dumbo ride, Its a small world boat ride.

Characters are all over - so just go spotting! Mickey is often seen driving about in his car. there are also certain times/areas where you 'know' they will be and where you can go and meet them, have photos - that's in both parks.

The parades can get very busy so try and get a good place as early before it as you can.

This is the DLP web site

Have a fab time
