Help wanted from caravanning mums with young kiddies!!!!!!

Have just bought a very large touring caravan and are going away shortly with DH and Dd(3)and Ds(9months) are bed guards good for 9 month old babies ? also any great tips from anyone that holidays in touring caravans !!!!!!!

jampot, sound like you and me are condemmed to go caravanning for a few more years then - ours is also a new one and my dh loves it. I hate how cramped it is with three children inside, they're forever falling over each other and bumping their heads. Also can't stand how noisy other people are, and their awful dogs. It just doesn't feel like a holiday. I keep hoping that I'll suddenly start enjoying it...

we've got a swift conqueror its big but dont want to put the travel cot inside as it will be in the way of my Dd when she wants to get up for a wee in the night however will be taking it with us for in the awning.great toy storer too!!!!

I have a bedguard up for grabs if it would be of any use. Never been used, since both dds still sleep with us!

we currently have a Lunar Freelander (double one end with twin bunks the other end (6 berth) - new last year. The one we had before was a double dinette style which created a double either end (much better). I don't enjoy the caravan because I feel very cramped in it and hate having to get up, get dressed and go and queue up for a shower etc then traipse back to the caravan to dry hair etc. We've tried it for 5 years now and I really am ready for a nice lodge somewhere...

we've got a huge tourer too... we used a travel cot for dd before she was ready for a bed guard, our caravan has a separate kids' room with bunk beds and a table which we took out to put up the travel cot. What's the layout of yours like? You can also use the travel cot as a play pen in the awning.
Just make sure you go to a site with a good playground, and be prepared to crave a child-free holiday in a luxury hotel afterwards!

Thanks jampot ,yep got an awning its made to fit the 23' monster we've bought. Well glad to hear that bed guards will work tomy one or the mothercare one ?which is best? hmmm why don't do it? The kids love it well the youngest was in my tummy last time we went in a caravan belonging to my MIL but eldest Dd loved it!!!!! hope things will be ok......LOL!!!!

Top tip: don't do it!!!!!!!
Another top tip: Get an awning!!!

On the other hand you may really enjoy it. We bought ours when dd was 6 and ds was nearly 3. We made up one of the doubles and they slept together so neither could fall off the bed.
