I'm starting to look at iPhones for ds

He likes the side of the se or the mini's

I've seen that 3 are selling the 2020 se model for £19 a month for 24 months

Trying to decide whether to go for the se 2020, se 2022 or one of the minis

I want an iPhone as we all have them so it's easy to use the family link

Prefer a pay monthly, ideally no more than £25ish

Plan is to pay for it for the 24 months then move it on a sim only deal so hoping for one that will last a good few years in terms of apple updates etc

Get the 2022SE. We bought the 2020 se when it came out for our child and it was great. We just upgraded her to the new version. It wasn’t entirely necessary to upgrade right away, but we figured we would probably want to within a year and it made since to use the newest SE as long as possible. Plus it was her birthday and I had no gift ideas.

I like the SE because it’s really designed to last a few years. Many of the other models are basically planned to become obsolete. It’s also plenty sturdy, though I would get a good case for it and buy a pack of screen protectors because kids are kids.

Do you notice much difference between the new se and the older one?

We went into the apple shop yesterday and we both liked the size of them as my iPhone 13 is too big for his pocket in most of his clothes

My dd reports the new one is faster and the battery lasts longer. The batter might simply be linked to age. She doesn’t use the camera much.

Apple are doing the 2022 SE for £17.45/m (64Gb) or £23.70/m (256Gb) direct.

Sky have good deals on both at the moment. I'd go for the SE 2022 or 13 mini rather than the 12 mini.
