Hello All,
See photo I've attached that will hopefully illustrate what I'm trying to describe.
So the far end of the garden is just a patch full of sad looking wilted hostas and grasses and some other plants that look scraggily. To add to this, my DS kicks the football into this more often than getting it in the net 🙄 so it damages whatever is there. I was thinking that I might dig up all of the ground cover (but keep the false currant bush at the back and the azaela) and put some big rocks (there's already a few there but all grown over) and smaller pebbles with some (hardy) plants in-between.
I am new to gardening, I've only had this garden 9 months so not really confident in my ideas - what do others think? Will this look daft / out of place? Rest of garden is pretty green with trees / shrubs / plants to the left and right of the lawn and a patio seating area at the front. Something is nagging me saying it might look completely out of place, but I think its just that I'm so used to seeing just greenery? Have others got similar in their gardens, and would you be wiling to post pics for inspiration?
Any advice gratefully received 😀
