Strawberry jam in the bread machine...yay or ney?

I'm going berry picking tomorrow with the aim of getting enough for jam... will I end up disappointed if I make the jam in the bread machine? Will it set well? How much can you do in a load? I've never used the bread machine for anything other than bread! Thanks!

We picked way too many strawberries, so i did most as usual on the hob plus one batch in thr bread machine. Ive muddled up all my jars now so comparison will never happen! Seemed ok... the batch was small but it was significantly easier and less stressful than a huge pot on the hob! Got 1 and a bit jars from the machine vs about 15 on the hob!

As it happens, I went from this post to Serious Eats. They are making jam this week.

I make marmalade in the slow cooker. I bring it up to temperature with the lid on and then lid off for evaporation. I imagine a bread machine would be similar. Remember to find a source of pectin for strawberry jam.

I make jam in the bread machine, it is slightly runnier than shop bought but so much nicer.
